Trattoria da Gino — Restaurant in Duino Aurisina / Devin - Nabrežina

Our last evening at Mare Pineta, we wanted to go close and to try out Trattoria da Gino and got a huge deception. We ordered mussels as antipasti and got it together with all the other plates. Mussels arrived cold and with a strong unpleasant fishy smell. We also had mixed fish grill, a branzino fish and milanesa with pommes. All the plates were missing the taste, spices and salt. Throughout the eating nobody came to ask if everything was all right. We looked ourselves for salt, to make the plates eatable. We tried to eat and to enjoy it, but there was actually no way. Also, we wanted to order fussili with ragu for the children, but the waitress told us, there is no fussili anymore. We asked for linguine or spaghetti, she said, sorry, there is no pasta at all. Very strange. The neighbour tables had linguine brought to the table, so how come we couldn't get no pasta for children and hat to order untasty milanesa with pommes. All together we paid 93 euros (mussels got of the invoice), but still lot to pay, for no taste at all. The one good thing though is the nice garden and all the playground for the children. That was nice, but only this. What a bad memory for the last evening here...

Siamo partiti a piedi da Duino lungo l'incantevole percorso dedicato al poeta Rainer Maria Rilke, che qui scrisse le Elegie Duinesi. Ad ora di pranzo, moderatamente affaticati, abbiamo visto questo ristorante sulla strada. Siamo stati accolti in un giardino grande, curatissimo e fresco, nonostante l'ora. Un bagno pulitissimo e accessoriato di tutto punto. Il servizio ottimo, discreto e senza insistenza alcuna. Ma tutto questo era solo il preludio. Quando sono giunte le pietanze e abbiamo cominciato a mangiare è emersa tutta la sapienza e l'esperienza del personale di cucina, questi benefattori nascosti. Cozze, cicale di mare, scampi, e varie qualità di pesci locali cucinati, con le paste o a zuppa o in molti altri modi, con un sapiente uso di erbe aromatiche in modo da esprimere il meglio dei loro sapori. Sono quei cibi che si trasformano in buonumore, in voglia di stare insieme discutendo delle mille cose belle della vita. Il conto infine, molto ragionevole. Un plauso particolare a proprietari e gestori per averci permesso di godere di due ore di felicità terrena senza torturarci con una inutile, fastidiosa, insulsa musica fuori luogo, triste consuetudine di molti pubblici esercizi. Visiting Trieste ans Miramare, kid get hungry so we stopped. Penne Alla ragout was very good. Octopus grilled also. 3 day later we extra visite again for Spaghetti Vongole and kid had Lasagne. arround 40€ include 3 softdrinks was Abs. correct for the quaility. In service 1 lady and 2 gentleman even with my limited Italian they where very helpful. So spot I will go back in the next visite to the...
