Heads up, I'm reviewing a place where I did not stay to enjoy, but I really wished I could have! My husband I drove a car that did not want to make the climb all the way up the mountain. We didn't know this place existed, we wanted to climb Mount Vesuvius. We saw the parking and thought we had reached our destination. The parking attendants were very kind in explaining we had further to go, but we could ask more than their limited English could share if we parked and went inside to the bar. It turns out there are limited spots for mount Vesuvius, and we hadn't made reservations so we had to give up that dream and turn back around (make a note to reserve in advance if that's your end goal here). But I really didn't want to leave this spot I loved the view, it was breathtaking. Sadly, we were starving (more poor planning on our part) and the restaurant here doesn't open until 8pm (it was 5pm) so we didn't make a reservation. (They also have limited seating, so DO make a reservation). The bar was open and I really would have loved to sit with a glass of wine and finish the day overlooking Herculaneum and the ocean, but my husband's stomach begged me to let that magical moment pass. But seriously, that view. Come for the view if...
Read moreOur trip to Mt Vesuvius was ruined by the waitress named Laura. This woman has the worst attitude of any wait person we have come across on our month long tour of Italy. Her attitude towards not only customers but also fellow staff is beyond disgusting.
At one point the bar man asked her to help a customer with a glass of wine and this peice of dirt flatly refused in front of the customer.
We ordered a salad and a panini. Shouldn’t be to hard you would think. The salad came first Very bland old cheese and day old lettuce. We had to wait another 30 minutes for the panini even after asking Laura the wonder waitress where it might be, but she was too busy taking on her phone and throwing rubbish into the overfull bins. Oh and no hand washing in sight afterwards.
Laura you need to lose the attitude and remember customers are your main priority. If I was the owner of this business you would have been sacked on the spot.
Perhaps a career sitting under an umbrella in the local industrial zones servicing passing truck divers would suit you better.
On a bright note the guy that made our Aperol Spritzers was awesome ( even though they came in a plastic cup )you Sir are a gentleman . Laura the slag could learn a...
Read moreThe view is the only positive thing. When you sit for drink, they cannot bring you food. When you sit for food, they cannot bring you bar drinks offer. We were bothering them just by being there and obviously they wish they had no clients so they wouldn't have to work. Zero attention given by the staff. We were given wrong food order and the girl who brought the wrong order just left while rolling her eyes but didn't take the plate back and fix it. We had to beg for attention of the waiter to give us correct food. The worst bruschette I've had in Italy - they serve bruschette on hard old bread sides so you might also lose your teeth. They bring you plastic cups and disgusting 1980's cutlery I didn't even know is still being sold. My tip is to stop for a view but don't bother to visit, go somewhere they value your presence, but I guess that would have to be farther...
