I' Giuggiolo Osteria Pizzeria — Restaurant in Florence

A local recommended this place to us and it did have some locals inside but honestly the food was nothing special compared to other restaurants we ate at while in the area. And the service was the worst ever and I am very patient naturally but extra patient when in Italy. We place our order and first up was suppose to be our pasta dishes and the waitress brings out the parmesan after a long while but no pasta so we thought things were just taking a while then not joke probably more then 30mins go by and still nothing however she is clearly aware that we still haven't gotten anything. Then she goes to us "the kitchen staff didn't get the paper with our order you have been so patient". The most lost waitstaff I have ever encountered, not to mention my girlfriend caught one waitress fixing her underwear and scratching herself with her hand in her pants while chatting to the owner at the front. We went to I' Giuggiolo on the recommendation of a friend who is from Florence. As we were visiting over Christmas we were a bit concerned about Christmas dinner. It turns out that many Italian restaurants are open for big family Christmas lunches but reservations are a MUST. Thankfully, my friend made sure to get us reservations, especially since there were 9 of us! The menu was fantastic and each of our meals were delectable. Since we didn't have a car we were able to catch the bus pretty easily. Unfortunately by the time we left the bus service had stopped running. Siamo stati a cena al Giuggiolo, un gruppo di 6 ragazzi, esperienza più che pessima!!! Come antipasto decidiamo di ordinare i coccoli con prosciutto e stracchino, arrivati i piatti io e un altro ragazzo ritroviamo sopra un capello e una sopracciglia, decidiamo di non dargli troppa importanza e di non dire niente. Come secondo ordiniamo 3kg di bistecca alla Fiorentina, 3 porzioni di patate fritte e un filetto ben cotto. Arrivate le patate fritte ritroviamo sopra una quantità esagerata di peli, a questo punto decido di avvisare la cameriera, capisco che possa capitare una volta ma che mi vengano portate le patate con tutti quei peli evidenti mi sembra vergognoso e al quanto disgustoso. La cameriera le riporta in cucina e una volta riportate al nostro tavolo c’era comunque un pelo tra le patate fritte. Il filetto richiesto ben cotto mi è stato portato al sangue, oltre ad avere una qualità prezzo pessima, €26 per un filetto di dimensioni al quanto ridicole. La bistecca alla fiorentina niente da dire fino a quando… la mattina seguente gli altri 5 ragazzi che hanno mangiato i 3kg di bistecca si sono ritrovati con un intossicazione alimentare, febbre, vomiti e crampi allo stomaco. Vista la situazione decidiamo di chiamare il ristorante e di informarli di quanto accaduto. Ci aspettavamo almeno delle scuse, ma forse era chiedere troppo, non hanno avuto neanche un minimo di comprensione, anzi, sono stati al quanto scortesi e sbruffoni. Con un conto da €300 pensavamo almeno di consumare una cena degna di quei soldi, ma è stata tutt’altro che degna.
