Ristorante Agriturismo Calamate — Restaurant in Gallipoli

My wife and I spent 9 nights at this very pleasant establishment, which consists of a restaurant and about 5 studios or apartments in a lovely garden near Gallipoli. We had "Lavanda", a 2-bedroom apartment, which had a small kitchenette and living room as well as the large, comfortable bedrooms and a big covered patio with a barbecue and outdoor furniture. Although equipped to operate as a full agriturismo, in the off-season (when we were there) the restaurant normally only opens for the guests' breakfast and occasionally for lunch, dinner or a function. In these times, the place essentially operates as a B & B, and is quiet and completely delightful.||||Access and location: the place is not easy to find as it does not have a normal street frontage - make sure you get instructions as to how to find it!||||There is a big supermarket within walking distance, which is handy when self-catering.||||The only adverse comment I could make is that the kitchenette has only gas-rings - no oven, microwave or like appliances and no toaster or electric kettle - and food which only needs to be warmed, or cannot be cooked in a pan, can be a problem. You could, of course, bring your own things if your home is in Europe and you are arriving by car.||||Breakfast is hosted by the bella Anna, whose welcome was always warm and whose coffee was great. Prima sera nell'area di Gallipoli ammaliata dalle foto del menu, e dalle recensioni tutto sommato positive scegliamo con mio marito questo ristorante. Esperienza completamente deludente! Non ci torneremo mai più, e lo sconsiglieremo ai nostri conoscenti. Primo appunto la strada per arrivare, una mulattiera piena di buche e sassi sporgenti, senza asfalto e indicazioni nel mezzo di niente; dove passa una sola macchina. Sarebbe troppo colocare anche solo VB del brecciolino per cercare di coprire le buche? Arrivati nel ristorante nessuno ci viene incontro, anonimi sconosciuti e mal graditi ospiti. Forse perché non avevamo prenotato? O perché io sono mulatta brasiliana e mio marito bianco? Cameriere estremamente scortese e con una grande fretta ci impone di scegliere tutto subito, primo, secondo e contorno! Motivi di organizzazione in cucina.... Dice lui Chiedo la calamarata ai frutti di mare, mi viene risposto che non è disponibile, al suo posto fagioli e cozze! 👎👎👎Di sabato sera non c'è il piatto più gettonato??? Prendiamo due porzioni di spaghetti al pesto di agrumi vongole e gamberi. Altro flop! Aspettiamo 15/20 minuti arrivano 40/50 grammi di pasta con 6 dico sei vongole e tre gamberi surgelati nel piatto di mio marito ed uno nel mio. Vedere foto allegate per credere!!! Mio marito fa presente il tutto al cameriere....scarsa porzione e ridicolo il contenuto e il condimento risultato? Nulla nessuno e venuto a scusarsi o a chiedere cosa non andava. I secondi una ennesima pagliacciata, del tonno sicuramente non di prima scelta VB e con certezza non rosso buttato sul piatto arrivato freddo, il polipo alla pignata ripassato al microonde, in quanto era stato cucinato la mattina, per stessa affermazione del cameriere. Delusi e affamati, ma soprattutto offessi perché trattati come clienti di serie " B" abbiamo chiesto tre volte a tre camerieri differenti il conto. Dopo varie richieste e buoni 10 minuti la farsa finale 4 euro di coperto ...... Ma non era stato abolito per legge? Si avvicina una delle cameriere e ci chiede cosa non fosse andato bene. La risposta laconica di mio marito : Tutto!!! Il titolare non si è neanche degnato di venire al tavolo per chiedere. Siamo usciti dal locale con una certezza non torneremo mai più in questo posto. Una stella perché la location si presenta bene a parte il parcheggio allo scuro e lungo la via mulattiera già menzionata.Ultimo appunto guardate il conto si commenta da solo! Peccato.... Potevano fare...
