Worst experience in my life!! I’ve lived and travelled around Northern Italy and Sardinia for the past 37months(3y & 1m) and have seen many great places. I speak decent Italian, however not like a native. On Friday July night between 20-22pm there were only 2 International families besides ours. The food was pretty tasteless, bread dry and un fresh. I ordered Paccheri con ragù di calamari( basically pasta with some calimari and cheery tomatoes). The waitress asked, “Is it OK if it will have some crab?” And I said “yes, that’s fine”. When I received my Paccheri it had a big crab on the plate beside pasta with basically nothing inside it. When we went to pay, instead of €13 for the Paccheri we were promised, the check for Paccheri came out to be €27!! The waitress stated that that’s the crab that costed €15 more, however she didn’t mention it while we were ordering. After a long while of arguments, the cost was returned however you CANNOT foul customers like that! It was horrible! Nonetheless, we booked the table with The Fork that promised us -20% for food however the cashier stated she didn’t know what that was! Horrible, horrible experience! don't let the where this restaurant is or what it looks like from the outside put you off! I have visited this restaurant twice now (and will be definitely going back again) for lunch and for evening meal and each time it was a great experience. By experience I mean the whole visit. the staff were wonderful and the waiter (Carlos) was very helpful, his English was impeccable and he described he food with such enthusiasm and so well everything sounded so good. he was right to be so enthusiastic as the food was wonderful and some of the best Italian cuisine I have tasted. For my evening meal i just told him to bring me what he considered good and was not disappointed, i had a ravioli filled with a Sicilian cheese and smothered with the most wonderful pesto sauce i have ever tasted. this was followed by a stake covered with a Gorgonzola cheese sauce. the stake was so tender without a hint of gristle and tasted divine. È la quarta volta che vengo in questo ristorante, già la prima volta (circa 10 anni fa) ho avuto una brutta esperienza con una paella che decisamente puzzava di marcio. Da li ammetto che sono un pò prevenuto e assaggio con molta circospezione e vengo solo perchè essendo di Genova capita che amici e parenti facciano riferimento a questo ristorante e francamente non capisco il perchè venga scelto dato che il rapporto qualità prezzo è decisamente basso. Ieri eravamo in 5 e da prevenuto ho preso solo i contorni: patate al forno e verdure grigliate e non ci sono stati problemi. Gli altri avevano preso 2 primi (agnolotti al nero di seppie e carbonara di mare), 2 secondi (ricciola e tagliata di manzo) e 3 dolci (tiramisù, torta alle albicocche e sacripantina) da bere 4 bottiglie d'acqua e 2 coca cola. Assaggiando gli altri piatti anche questa volta ho trovato scarsa la qualità sia del gambero messo a decoro della carbonara di mare ma soprattutto del tiramisù, decisamente avariato e immangiabile. Premetto di averli assaggiati dopo che chi li aveva ordinati aveva sentito un gusto "pesante" e che volevo accertarmi se le esperienze precedenti si erano ripetute. Costo complessivo 130€ scontati a 110€ con il bonus di The Fork e con il tiramisù non conteggiato. Prezzo decisamente alto se pensiamo che alla fine si tratta di solo 2 pasti completi, ma il vero problema è la qualità. Capisco che gestire un locale e una cucina per oltre 100 persone non sia una cosa semplice ma da libero professionista (che sa cosa significa avere una attività in proprio e far quadrare i conti) direi che qui si cerca solo di lucrare al massimo con il minimo sforzo. Questo obiettivo alla lunga non ripaga. A mio parere per gestire oltre 100 posti non si può avere un listino da diverse pagine e garantirne la qualità.
