Crunch — Restaurant in Giovinazzo

In this establishment along the Giovinazzo waterfront, you can enjoy fried fish, sandwiches, and pizza by the meter. During our visit, we tried a half-meter pizza and a sandwich. For the pizza, we chose two different flavors: the “San Giuannid,” a reinterpretation of the pasta dish with sun-dried tomatoes, anchovies, and burrata, and a pizza with sweet amaretti cookies, crispy bacon, arugula, and, if I recall correctly, stracciatella cheese. Both flavors were very good, but the second one stood out for its contrast between the sweetness of the amaretti and the saltiness of the bacon. It’s worth noting that the pizzas are more of a “Pinse” style.

The sandwich didn’t particularly impress and came with fries that were even less remarkable.

The service was decent… unfortunately, due to limited seating, we had to wait to be seated. Nevertheless, once we were seated, the service was adequate, and the waitstaff were friendly.

The prices seemed slightly excessive to me, especially for the pizzas and drinks.

Nevertheless, I would recommend the establishment.

In questo locale sul lungomare di Giovinazzo, è possibile gustare frittura di pesce, panini e pizza al metro. Durante la nostra visita, abbiamo provato un panino e una mezza metro di pizza. Per la pizza, abbiamo scelto due gusti differenti: la “San Giuannid”, una rivisitazione della omonima pasta con pomodori secchi, alici e burrata, e una pizza con amaretti (dei biscotti dolci), bacon croccante, rucola e, se ben ricordo, stracciatella. Entrambi i gusti erano molto buoni, ma il secondo mi ha colpito particolarmente per il contrasto tra il dolce degli amaretti e il salato del bacon. È importante sottolineare che le pizze, in realtà, sono delle “Pinse”.

Il panino non ha suscitato particolari emozioni ed è stato accompagnato da patatine che sono risultate poco entusiasmanti.

Il servizio è stato decente… purtroppo, a causa della limitata disponibilità di posti a sedere, abbiamo dovuto aspettare per poterci accomodare. Tuttavia, una volta seduti, il servizio è stato adeguato e i camerieri sono stati gentili.

I prezzi mi sono sembrati leggermente eccessivi, soprattutto per le pizze e le bevande.

Genuinely terrible service and atmosphere. At first when we arrived there were multiple free seats, we asked in english that we would like to be seated at the restaurant, after which, the waitress went to the manager to speak, the manager then told us that we can’t sit here. After further deliberations the manager backed down and sat us outside. After we got seated, we waited for 20-30 minutes for someone to come and take our order - nobody came. All the while the waitresses were walking around the restaurant taking orders and ignoring us. Our patience ran out and we left for another restaurant where we had a wonderful time. Amazing place, amazing service and great food. We have been to the restaurant several times and although the first visit was very successful, each subsequent one was only better. You can eat delicious pizza, good steak and great desserts here. I recommend the fig pizza and pasta the most if it is on that day. Aperol Spritz and Limoncello Spritz are something we already miss, although we miss the lovely service more, which we remember with joy. The place is definitely worth recommending and I would say that it is the best side of giovinazzo. We miss you and send our regards. Filip...
