Cafè Bistrot — Restaurant in Isola delle Femmine

Strangely, I can not share the good reviews. We ate here with our family a week ago. Unfortunately I think the prices are extremely high. We’re traveling through Italy since three weeks and that’s why I guess I can compare. It’s even more expensive than in Rome. I mean it’s a bistro and not a fancy restaurant.

We decided to stay because we were very hungry. Ok, high prices so I expect very good service and high quality food. BUT… no bread was served, they offer Parmesan cheese packed in plastic bags (fresh would have been appropriate for the price) and there is no fresh pepper either.

The biggest problem: the food just wasn't tasty - I mean every dish that my family members ate. It seems to me that a lot of the ingredients come from canned and industrially manufactured products. It doesn't taste like someone would cook from scratch themselves.

I'm sorry for the owners and staff for giving such a bad review. But as a tourist, I want to be able to rely on reviews, so I want...

Ordered two sets of burger and chips. The lady said they didn't have chips but could replace it with salad. What arrived was a burger with untidy looking lettuce. I would be ashamed to serve it to anyone and charge them the full price of the meal afterwards. Also they seem to use cheap disposable table cloths that don't have to be washed. Amazing restaurant in Isola delle Femine! We came back multiple times for breakfast and dinner! The sweet pastry for breakfast and cappuccino were great, as well as dinners (we tried pasta and pinsas and their bruschettas are awesome too!). A big plus is that the staff speaks English! :) Sometimes the place was busy but you can see the staff was working on 200% so it's more recommend when you are not in rush and want to talk with friends...
