L'Altro Faro — Restaurant in Isole Tremiti

I came here off season and still the place was almost full: the fish was fresh and tasty, service was nice and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We ordered a variety of starters and a few main dishes for the whole family. The menu is always different depending on the day's catch, but I warmly recommend the mixed fried fish plate, that's likely available most days - for 15 euros it's not very abundant, but it's well fried and extremely satisfying. We had a blast sipping the fish soup (20 euros) and cleaning the many different types of fish included, likely different for each serving. The seafood spaghetti, for 13 euros, could have definitely be a little more, but they came with a nice serving of tasty clams. I really liked that there were only a few items on the menu - it gave me the impression they're probably all well done. The place is simply decorated, and the menu is just a sheet of paper - for the prices they offer, that's more than ok. The lady that served us was very friendly and really not invasive - she offered a few anecdotes about the restaurant and the islands that added a nice touch...

ho ricevuto un pessimo servizio... intanto il menù è un foglio da compilare simile a un quiz, con solo due primi, che il camerire viene a ritirare (non nel nostro caso perchè dopo 15 minuti lo abbiamo dovuto chiamare noi). le porzioni sono veramente troppo piccole a parte due o tre piatti. l'atmosfera non era per niente piacevole... ci hanno messo nel tavolo sociale dove si trovava anche un’altra famiglia e non riuscivo a sentire ne parlare con i miei famigliari, faceva troppo caldo e in più la musica era pessima e non metteva a proprio agio i clienti. il cibo non mi è piaciuto perchè oltre alle porzioni minuscole non sapeva di niente e un particolare che ho notato è che il cibo era quasi tutto finito (a due ragazze di fianco a noi sono arrivati soltanto due piatti). il prezzo era veramente troppo alto per il servizio ricevuto e per il cibo. la cosa che mi è piaciuta di meno è che lo chef andava in giro per il ristorante a parlare con i suoi amici. infine non mi è piaciuto neanche il fatto che non si accettano ordinazioni e che è lontano...
