Bar La Buvette — Restaurant in La Thuile

It's a bar so you aren't really getting a meal here. Beer and Wine is perfectly fine but does come at a premium over the other bars in the area. Luckily they do serve snacks with your drinks such as cheese, nuts, grapes, etc which come to your table for free which is a nice touch.

My main gripe, and the reason why I'm giving it 3 stars is because the music is way too loud when sat outside. Any Outdoors bar you have been to in the past with music tends to get the volume just right to be loud but not irritating to listen to, but this place just blasts the speakers at full volume for no good reason. All they have to do is turn it down a notch or two and it would be perfect. This was an opinion shared by all 5 of us (22-25 year old's)

The music was fine, but it feels like the playlist only had about 20 songs on repeat the whole week we were at La Thuile, and since it's the first thing you hear when you reach the bottom of the slopes it can get pretty repetitive

La Buvette has new owners and the prices have doubled and some, with a very uninspiring bready menu 🥹. We had two massive bread rolls with a bit of filling. Top of menu is a 20 euro portion of goulash. We spoke to a local ski worker and he told us David, the head of the family that ran it for thirty years has retired, and the location was put out to tender for the highest bidder. So now I guess the new owners have to recoup their investment by overcharging for an uninspiring menu. Better no need to support from them in an emergency situation. My wife in helicopter to reach Hospital, my phone without charge I asked to charge my phone and the answer has been " no way the only cable is used to play music". Unbelievable . To collect money from tourists very efficient. I hope they can leave something similar when they are on vacation to understand what means for a tourist/customer to receive this...
