Brace yourself, dear reader, for a tale of comic mishaps and bizarre encounters at L’AjA.
Upon stepping into the establishment, I was greeted by an invisible time vortex that seemed determined to test my patience. The food, which I naively believed would appear before me in a timely manner, instead decided to embark on a scenic world tour before gracing our table. I kid you not, it took over two hours for our meal to materialize, and by that point, I was ready to grow a full beard!
As if time travel wasn't enough, the chef also decided to partake in a whimsical game of "hide the Ingredients." Imagine my surprise when my plate arrived missing essential elements, as if they were conspiring against my taste buds. I couldn't help but wonder if the kitchen staff were secretly moonlighting for a new culinary-themed prank show.
To add insult to culinary injury, the cosmic comedy continued as fellow diners who had sauntered in long after our arrival received their meals before us.
Now for the grand finale—a confrontation with the manager that would put even the most peculiar sitcom moments to shame. As I questioned the full payment due to the poor service, the manager inquired about my origin, and, lo and behold, they uttered the infamous words: "That explains it!" I couldn't help but laugh at the sheer audacity of it all! Apparently, intergalactic forces conspire against diners from Australia…
But amidst this surreal circus, there was a shining star—a beacon of professionalism in the form of our dedicated waiter. With genuine remorse in their eyes and a knack for customer service, they offered a discount of over 50%. It was as if they were the protagonist of their own sitcom, caught in the absurdity of their workplace.
In the end, my dining experience at L’AjA was akin to entering a parallel universe filled with time distortions, vanishing ingredients, and the strangest managerial sass. While I can't say I left with a satisfied stomach, I did exit with a belly full of laughter, thanks to the antics of this truly bizarre dining adventure. So, if you're in the mood for an experience that will leave you scratching your head and giggling uncontrollably, L’AjA is the place to be. Just be sure to bring your sense of humor and a full stomach. You will need both!
Edit: won’t respond to everything written by owner, but wait time was specified as 30-45 mins and we felt great sympathy for the waiters; the only person yelling at them was...
Read moreLaja Toscana is a real pearl and hidden charm. We have found this amazing restaurant last year when visiting Tuscany and already back then we loved so much we ate twice in a row there. But this year we came back to Tuscany to celebrate with my husband his 40th birthday and our 1st year anniversary and Lajatica has accommodate us for an outstanding dinner for 30 people served in their beautiful and very unique garden. But what really blows your mind is the food they make. Their pizzas are to die for and also very original in flavors. Planning this dinner night for my husband I was in contact with the owner of the restaurant, Lorenzo and let me tell you, his customer service and hospitality is outstanding. He even helped me to organize local taxi services so we can all go back to our villa safe but enjoy a glass or two of his delicious wines. The menu was defined and we will defo be back whenever we visit Tuscany again. So I hope to see you...
Read moreNo bread or menu. Managers yelling at staff. 2 hour wait time, even with maximum 30 people in the restaurant. All other tables got their food before us even though they arrived after we had ordered. When the dishes arrived they were missing essential pieces.
We tried to express our dissatisfaction and the manager responded in an extremely rude manner. Never seen anything like it.
Thankfully, our waitress saw what was going on and tried her best.
Managers: by treating your staff better you will create a better environment for yourselves, your staff, and your customers. Win-win for everyone. Hope you will...
