Le Vecchie Mura — Restaurant in Lanciano

Went for dinner here with my family from Lanciano. It may be the single greatest meal I've ever had in Italy. 5* truly doesn't do this place justice, it was absolutely amazing. We started with the taglieri, followed by the pallotte (which was one of our favorites from the meal). We then shared 2 different pastas, of which the gnocchi stole the show. We then had a selection of roasted meat (pork and lamb) which both looked and tasted amazing. At this point, both my girlfriend and I were absolutely full but the dessert started to come out. The lemon sorbet was light and fresh, perfectly finishing the meal but a slice of the bocconotto torta was too good to pass up. Delectable and reminiscent of my childhood. Abbiamo festeggiato un compleanno in questo locale, devo dire che i piatti non male. Ma ci sarebbe da dire un bel po’ sulla maleducazione delle cameriere non parlando della professionalità: Vedere come si stendono sui tavoli per poter prendere più piatti possibile senza spostarsi era veramente disgustoso, rispondevano sempre con arroganza. Alle 23:30 hanno cominciato ad aprire la porta, fuori facevano 14gradi comunque stando dentro sentivi tanto freddo perché eravamo proprio davanti alla porta, noi giustamente abbiamo chiuso anche perché c’erano anche persone anziane… per farla breve.. aprivano la porta ogni volta che noi la chiudevamo… fino a quando una delle cameriere infastidita ci ha ripresi perché la porta deve rimanere aperta giustificandosi ( c’è odore di chiuso) ..ma dai.. “siamo in un locale dove si mangia”. Comunque abbiamo detto che abbiamo freddo e se potevano lasciare la porta chiusa … niente da fare… le cameriere si sono messe a ridere dicendo davanti a tutti gli invitati “ c’è la signorina qua un po’ agitata” . Io senza parole. Vi dico anche che metà delle persone che erano alla festa sono a casa...

First solid dining experience in Lanciano. The food was excellent and the service was beyond lovely. The waitress was attentive, fast and helpful with great recommendations. The ambiance was superb, as the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the music was the perfect style and volume for the experience. I give this place 5...
