Firstly, this is not a hotel, but rooms above a restaurant which is only open in the evening, so no breakfast. We only stayed here as we were desperate and it appeared there was no room in any of the hotels in the Cinque Terre (first weekend September). Upsides were location - nicely central and reasonably attractive; room was clean and beds comfortable, though small; small rather hot shower room, but good shower; room was cleaned daily, but no change of any linens or towels. Downsides were considerable: 120 euros per night for a room for 2 people (no hotel facilities to go with this); no wifi; no air conditioning or fan, so unbearably hot at night; situated on extremely noisy square: first night they had Karaoke beneath our window which lasted until after 2 am for a festival; next two nights kids playing football until well after midnight, shouting and screaming (we went down to shut them up second time). In addition, the church bells strike every hour, and from 6 am every quarter hour, at 7 it rings 45 times for an early service. Also, many motor bikes park under or near, and think nothing of revving up in the middle of the night before driving off. Rubbish collections very noisy. Traffic noise from nearby car park. Needless to say, we did not sleep well! Breakfast was included, which we were happy about until we got it: it was situated at a beach café - nice to be on the sea, but 10 minutes walk away, and consisted of 1 coffee and 1 croissant only. Our room on second floor with little balcony (nice), but 50 steps up. You need to be fit to stay here!||In addition, be aware of this agency arrangement in Levanto - we went to La Loggia direct to enquire about a room, having been given their address by the tourist office and were told no rooms, but to go to the agent in the centre (which we had already walked past). We went back to them, and were offered a room in - La Loggia! So lot of walking with our luggage for nothing, (then obviously had to return to La Loggia to enter the room) and a high price at the end of it. We were not satisfied, but unfortunately had no choice as there was nothing else that we could find.||Our advice: Avoid this if you can find something else in a reasonable hotel - you will...
Read moreI drove from France to levanto. I did not have a reservation I knew that was plenty hotels, we knew that levanto was the best location to stay wile visiting cinque Terre. After checking out many b&b we found this family owned place, it was perfect for being on a budget. || The owner does not speak English but we manage to communicate, this is a true Italian experience b& b. Rooms are nice, spacious and clean, under a $100 euros a great bargain for the area. The restaurant underneath is the best restaurant in town. Safe, parking is free and if you are traveling with kids, the city park is right around the Conner. the beach is right down the street. Look no further, this was the best experience on our trip! The location was perfect to visit Cinque Terra, the train is 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel and the Park train pass can be used all day to go back and forth.Ther is so much to see in Levanto, and numerous rester aunts, an amazing assortment of backers, fish markets and my favorite the fresh made pasta shop. If you are planning to visit Cinque Terra by car I highly recommend starting from Levanto and the La Loggia.. I kept their business card because I want to go back some day, the number of the hotel is 39 0187.80.81.07 be patience since they do not speak...
Read moreLocation is great. Right on "Piazza Del Popolo". One minutes walking distance from the beach and many shopping streets are just around the corner. ||But that's about it. ||We called the place from the Tourist Information Office in town, asking for a double room. We were told it's OK.||However, when we arrived to the place only few minutes later we were told that all that is left is 3 bed's room, even though we did not need it. We were then asked to pay extra for the 3rd bed we did not ask for. Well, after a long driving day it was too late for us to " 'bargain' so we took the room and paid the extra.||Room is very small (even if taking the 3rd bed out), no elevator and no breakfast. Though parking is free , using the hotel's parking permit, it's on a nearby public parking lot (which is not so 'nearby' if need to carry your luggage with you). Also, the parking lot is quite small and limited, and parking is based on availability - we had to wait for a while for someone to leave before we could park. Once we parked our car, we did not dare to move it in the next two days.||Finally, can't understand why is it being ranked under B&B category (TRIPADVISOR TITLE - #31 of 40 Levanto B&B and Inns) if they don't...
