Bar Tano — Restaurant in Lipari

Bar Tano is worth the short trip to Canneto if you are staying in Lipari Town. It is the perfect post-beach stop -- wonderful granita (truly the best you'll taste in Sicily) and conversation. Tano, the owner, makes everything fresh from real ingredients; the flavors tasted much brighter than any we had on the mainland. The ambiance is great; Tano's photo collection (all taken by him) helps create a relaxing Mediterranean afternoon. You'll find yourself happily staying for the conversation because he knows about much more than granita. Worth the relaxing trip to this quieter part...

Tasty cafe e crema granita but: A bit pricey for granita and brioche (4e+1,5e=5,5e for a small granita and brioche) and it also seemed that the owner was thinking up the price on the spot (no pricelist was visible). Che dire… spettacolare è poco! Questa granita è una vera e propria esperienza sensoriale. Appena affondi il cucchiaino, senti subito che non è la solita granita industriale: frutta vera, autentica, presente in ogni cucchiaiata. Il sapore è intenso ma naturale, senza essere stucchevole: poco zucchero, il giusto per esaltare il gusto del frutto senza coprirlo.

La consistenza è perfettamente equilibrata, né troppo liquida né troppo ghiacciata. E soprattutto è leggera, rinfrescante, sublime in ogni senso. Ideale per chi cerca qualcosa di genuino, fresco e fatto con amore.
