Da Fastidio — Restaurant in Livorno

What can I say, it‘s a must-visit! Even when you‘re in Livorno for only a short time. Just don‘t get discouraged by the waiting line, expect that nobody will speak English and expect some very local food ;-) We were in Livorno only for a few hours as we came by train and were going to take the boat to Palermo. We found this restaurant as it was quite close to the station. As it was full on a friday afternoon (!), they said it would take 10 minutes so we decided to wait. We were almost about to leave, when luckily a spot opened up. Once inside, we noticed that most people were senior. We found out (by the Italian English teacher next to us, as nobody will be able to speak English to you) that it is a special place where especially senior people love to go, and that the quality is absolutely amazing and extremely cheap. We finished our bottle of wine, had an absolutely amazing fish soup, then i ordered a steak which was very juicy and tender, and my girlfriend ordered cuddlefish in a sauce she didn‘t like so much particularly (which we both agree was a matter of taste, not a mistake by the chef). At the end, they offer you a piece of fruit. All for just around 16 Euro (if I‘m not mistaken). Super friendly people, a place most tourists would not go to, but it was especially the atmosphere and overall experience that made it an unforgettable event. For weekday lunch (until 2:30) NONE better. As of April 5,2023 for 14 euro's you get a 3 course meal (each course has multiple choices) with wine and coffee and bottled water and bread. It's the real Italian deal! Atmosphere is 100% italian. Food 100% Italian, Service 100% Italian and they don't speak english. Cannot recommend this...

Sono andata oggi a pranzo, eravamo in due, abbiamo chiesto gentilmente se era possibile prendere un primo e un secondo più contorno perchè un menù intero non ci andava e invece è OBBLIGATORIO prendere un menù completo a testa.Ok, ci mettiamo a sedere e si chiede una coca, niente o acqua o vino. Ok, mi portano l' acqua e per non scomodare il cameriere vado io al bar per chiedere se mela potevano dare ambiente..il cameriere, ritardato tra l' altro, va in escandescenza e inizia a urlare che l' acqua non la potevo portare a casa e blaterare altre follie, quindi gli rispondo che sono dei grandi maleducati e mene vado, peccato per essere un circolino la location era bella fresca e pulita.
