Osteria Le Botti — Restaurant in Lucignano

Restaurant is a mix of decor, with no consistent theme. We were the only guests there. We were immediately told there was no pizza. Even though there was no one else in the restaurant, it took the proprietor over 5 minutes after we sat to ask what we wanted to drink. 10 minutes later, and after we ordered, he brought a basket of cold bread.

After the proprietor brought our food, we did not see him again until after we had finished eating. He did not check on us to see if we wanted more to drink. He did not check to see if we liked the food. Which was too bad, because I did not enjoy my dish and wanted to order something else. But by the time he came back, my wife had already finished her meal, so it was too late for me to order more. Seeing how much was left on our plates, he asked if we wanted to take the food away, but we said no.

Even when he cleared the dishes, and my plate being full, not once were we asked if we liked the food. It would have been reasonable for him to conclude I did not like the food. He did ask if we wanted desert, but given his disinterest up to that point, we chose not to reward him with additinal business.

Even when I paid, he did not once ask if we enjoyed the meal.

The food was overall ok, I just decided my dish did not appeal to me. But to never be asked about it, to not be checked on, and the long waits between seeing the owner made it clear he did not care in the least about our experience. I've never given a "zero" stars for service, but this guy earned it. We won't be back, and unless you want a disintered, bored restauranteur to tend to you, don't...

While looking for a place to eat online for our large group (16) I stumbled on Osteria Le Botti. It looked ok. I called, and with my broken italian was able to book such a large table on short notice. Language would not be a problem as we were greeted by a very friendly staff, that served us incredible, real food. I had the Tagliata di Manzo, thin sliced steak strips on Rosmarin... incredible. Everybody was so happy (did I mention we were 16 people!) that we come back again....

We had an amazing time there! Despite arriving not long before closing time, the waiter welcomed us warmly and made sure we were well taken care of. His friendly and accommodating service truly stood out. The food was delicious, perfectly capturing the essence of Italian cuisine. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was spot-on.
