Pasticceria Gelateria Basaletti — Restaurant in Macugnaga

This is the best pastry & cafe I have ever come across! (An elderly man runs a sport shop in the village later told me this is the best pasticceria, genuine italian homemade sweets!!) In fact I came to this cafe for breakfast by chance as I normally eat breakfasts at the hotel i stay but this time I preferred to eat it outside in the morning sun and just hopped in this cafe and found out the homemade yogurt, croissants filled with cream(mmm too delicious) and cappuccino, coffee ..all sweets, biscuiti..ice cream..just paradise!!! Macugnaga is just an amazing lovely beautiful quiet village..and be able to admire the Dafour peak in the blue sky while enjoying the lovely coffee & munching the freshly baked croissants in the cafe terrace in the morning sun is just pure heaven! Although I don't speak Italian, the friendly staff gave me exactly what I wanted with big big smile :-) I think the elderly lady in the cafe can read my mind what I liked to drink and eat! Hehehe Sure will be back soon one day again to eat all the homemade delicious sweets :-) Thank you...

Premetto che c'erano tante persone nel locale quel pomeriggio, però stavamo venendo a piedi parecchio bagnati perché ci siamo beccati la pioggia con carrozzina e bimba di tre mesi. Entriamo nel locale e ci viene detto esplicitamente e non in maniera gentile dalla cameriera giovane, che dentro non potevamo stare con la bambina e che dovevamo uscire, quando nel locale il posto c'era e c'era anche un'altra carrozzina. Ritorniamo fuori, sempre bagnati e abbastanza scocciati. Alla fine ci fanno sedere fuori, però per le ordinazioni arriva un ragazzo giovane biondo davvero gentile che recupera un po' il nostro umore. Il menù è molto ricco e ti fa venire l'acquolina, però a livello pratico, quando volevo una determinata fetta di torta del menù, mi viene detto che la quella torta non me l'avrebbero data perché le vendevano intere. Ok va bene, ma allora specificatelo o non mettetele nel menù. Alla fine comunque la crostata che ho preso era buona, la frolla e la panna davvero ottime. Nel complesso non siamo stati benissimo, ma il cibo merita. Quindi tornerei si, ma per portarmi la torta...

Abbiamo preso 7 coppe di gelato per un totale di 44 euro, ma visto che all’interno faceva davvero caldo e stato chiesto un bicchiere di acqua naturale, che ci è stato addebitato per 50 centesimi. Pagato il dovuto, ho suggerito al gestore che sarebbe stato carino offrire il bicchiere di acqua. Per tutta risposta mi sono sentita dire che ‘ l’acqua è di tutti’ . Forse non aveva capito il suggerimento 😂. Considerato che è la terza volta che ci rechiamo in questo posto in poco più di una settimana, forse non sanno fidelizzare il cliente . Non si tratta dei 50 centesimi, ma del gesto. La volta precedente mi hanno dato una sporchissima ciotola per l’acqua del cane dicendomi di andare io a prendere l’acqua dalla canna posta all’esterno del terrazzino. ( per inciso ho restituito la ciotola, perché non avrei mai fatto bere il mio cane in una ciotola così sporca) Ma la gentilezza ??? La sensazione come cliente e di essere sopportati, non accolti. Buono il gelato, ma pessima...
