Porta del Mar — Restaurant in Marano Lagunare

Fortunately I did believe the good Google ratings and tried this Osteria. Spaghetto Vongole is unbeatable, Fritto misto as well, nice and friendly staff, good wine and the service was always fast. I got the last seat without reservation, even though the restaurant was almost empty. This has been criticized quite often in negative ratings here at Google. But after 20:00 all tables have been fully occupied with people who were smart to reserve a table! If this cannot be understood by some tourists (and I have been a tourist myself) and therefore people rate the restaurant poorly I can only conclude they simply do not understand the culture to book a table in time and by this providing the restaurant a base for forecasting their daily business. Don't miss a tasty experience. This restaurant close to the harbour but opened to the internal square can be a mouthful sensorial experience. The menu is short, it means a great selection of ingredients, 5 starters, 5 appetizers and five main courses. Only fish from the Laguna and pasta with tomato sauce if someone doesn't like fish (si why he/she would be here?). All plates are well prepared and the appearance is also great. I arrived at Marano by accident, coming back from Hungary. Just parked I ask two people of the place to eat and immediately point me to this restaurant. The place is very nice, clean and welcoming, it is located in a historic building. The scallops were awesome, the shrimp the same.
