L'Antico Scantinato — Restaurant in Massa Lubrense

I have been to the north and south of Italy with many dining experiences in many cities. Without question this little restaurant has the best authentic Italian food I have ever eaten. Not only was the food incredible but the atmosphere was great, located within a few lemon trees which they actively use to complete their recipes and dishes. There is also an amazing view of Naples, which made the experience even better. All of their food is made in-house and all of their vegetables, olive oil, and lemons are sourced from their garden. It is a small family owned place - Franco and Elsa were some of the nicest and accommodating people I met on my trip. Had the pleasure of dining here, a charming spot with a breathtaking view. This isn't a fancy place, but what it lacks in frills, it more than makes up for with its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. The homemade Italian dishes are absolutely delightful, bursting with authentic flavors.

One of the highlights of my visit was meeting the owner, who is not only passionate about his food but also makes his own wine. The wine was fantastic, perfectly complementing the meal. The prices are incredibly friendly, making this a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal.

The most amazing restaurant with the most amazing people! This review is a little late as I was in Italy with my husband in September. Franco opened his restaurant early so that we could have breakfast so that we wouldn’t miss our bus out of Schiazzano. When the bus never came to get us, Franco dropped us to another bus stop so that we would catch our bus and not pay crazy taxi fees. The food is amazing, and so is Franco, 10/10...
