My husband and I, along with our family, were beyond excited to celebrate our honeymoon at what was supposed to be a Michelin Guide-rated restaurant in Italy. We had booked this dinner as a special occasion the day after our wedding, expecting an exceptional culinary experience. Unfortunately, what we received was nothing short of a disaster. Im not one to typically complain but I feel compelled to share our horrendous experience to warn others. Do not eat here.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff had little interest in providing us with even basic hospitality. We communicated our desire to share a couple of appetizers among the group, a simple and common request. However, instead of understanding this, the staff proceeded to bring out enough food to cover what would have been main courses for everyone. This blatant upselling was not only misleading but felt like a deliberate attempt to exploit us as non-locals.
As if the ordering mishap wasn’t enough, the quality of the food was shockingly poor. The seafood, which we expected to be a highlight given the restaurant’s reputation, was filled with sand and grit. It was practically inedible and an absolute disgrace for any establishment, let alone one claiming Michelin recognition.
After enduring the disappointment of the meal, we hoped dessert might salvage the evening. We asked for the dessert menu three times, only to be ignored. Eventually, we gave up and requested the bill. The level of neglect we experienced was astonishing. It was painfully obvious that the staff prioritized Italian-speaking patrons, leaving us to fight for any semblance of service.
To add insult to injury, when it came time to settle the bill, the staff had the nerve to pressure us about the tip. Instead of allowing us to decide what was appropriate given the subpar experience, they hovered, making it clear they expected a generous gratuity despite their appalling service.
In summary, this restaurant was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The miscommunication, the substandard food, the inattentive service, and the brazen pressure over tipping combined to ruin what should have been a memorable celebration. I would strongly advise anyone who isn’t a local or fluent in Italian to steer clear of this place. It’s simply not worth the risk of ruining your special occasion as...

We chose Ristorante La Torre On Fire for my father's 80th birthday lunch, and it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant excels in its fish-based menu, offering dishes that were both fresh and exquisitely prepared. The homemade bread, served with extra virgin olive oil, was a delightful start. The appetizers, including marinated sardines and mussels in a flavorful marinade, set a high standard for the meal. The main courses, particularly the pasta ai frutti di mare and the mixed fried fish, were exceptional in taste and presentation. The service throughout our meal was attentive and excellent, contributing to a very special family celebration. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-quality seafood...
