What could be an amazing experience and ended as a cruel and insensitive experience. 6 courses in 2:30 no coffee no explanations no discounts and cutting out the amuse bouches so we could leave. We arrived at 1pm - and we were not greeted with happiness or just a simple welcome feeling. The host couldn’t find our booking, ok we are foreigners but we can spell our name for you to make an effort to understand us They sat us in a sunny table in the greenhouse and send us to the website to check the menu - brought us some water When requesting the food the waiter was in the attitude of almost doing us a favor to look at us not even explained the menu or how the concept works. For us that work in hospitality it was embarrassing to see that atitude and a disrespect for the clients and for the concept she was representing. It took forever to arrive each moment - time you could go around the park to refresh or to see the dead fishes in the water close to the greenhouse you were seated - that the waiter decided to open after some time has we and the other tables looked like in a sauna - well the air become fresher but also the smell was become worst in the room - it smelled like a dump And we had to be there waiting for the next courses 2 hours more. The worst in all of this was the attitude of the waiters - one after another that came to the table was never in a good mood or trying to explain why all of this experience was taking so long, not offering to change to another table, not refilling water or bread. It was excruciating to see and to be there waiting for the next course And when we requested for the last course to come faster they just skipped the amuse Bouches and no words more We had to go to the counter to ask and pay the bill - no comment no asking how was the experience nothing …. It is an outrage the way a amazing concept can be so badly represented I am so sorry for the disengagement of this relation of food service and concept experience. Not worth the effort of going to this potential amazing place to receive such a...
Read moreI had read about this restaurant before we went to Italy, and it was the meal I was most looking forward to.
BUT … though the food was very good (8/10) and the restaurant design was inviting, the service was consistently lacking in warmth or hospitality. Three examples: (1) as is common in COVID era, there was no paper menu or wine menu, but our server just rattled off the web site address (in rapid Italian) and walked away, expecting us to find our own way. (2) Server had no interest (or ability?) to help with wine selection. (3) When my husband gently pointed out that he had been served the wrong main dish, he received only a scowl, and the dish was whisked away without apology or words setting expectation. The correct main dish was roughly deposited on the table 15 minutes later.
The problem wasn’t specific to one server having a bad day. All our interactions with staff felt very transactional and lacking in any interest in whether we were enjoying our meal.
Certainly not worth the 45-minute schlep out of...
