Ristorante San Glicerio 2 — Restaurant in Milan

This place always does bad things to American or the other foreigners. They take the advantage of the people who doesn’t speak Italian. They purposely gave you the wrong orders and charged dishes and drinks the guests never ordered. We tried to clarify with the waiter, the manager got angry, he said to us, ‘you pay what you want to pay’ followed by some Italian cursing words. We just said to him ‘we pay what we ordered’. We marked the receipt and dropped the exact amount of cash on the counter. After we got back to hotel, we just talked to the hotel guy who made this reservation for us that in the future never recommend this restaurant to anyone not speak Italian. This restaurant is not a decent place, they probably cheated on guests small or big many times, but we both are scientists, our profession respects the truth, we hate to be cheated. So this...

I wish I could give this more than three stars. The food is good, and we were in the mood to eat seriously at lunchtime today. However, the waitress was so busy trying to bounce us charmlessly into accepting we were going to be fed the (excellent) antipasto tasting that we barely got to look at the menu. Same approach on wine choices, which are never best made with someone looming over you. All of this was happening at the worst table in the dismal, windowless basement, where we'd been banished in spite of empty tables upstairs and a booking made days ago.

Reading other reviews, I can see these are issues others have had too. I guess at least it wasn't simply because we're foreigners. It's such a shame. I loved a lot of the food we ate today. But I'll never go back and I can't recommend it to...

Ho prenotato un tavolo per la cena sabato sera 20 febbraio. Nonostante la prenotazione, sono arrivato al locale ed ho atteso per circa venti minuti in piedi all’ingresso del ristorante in compagnia di altre persone che come me avevano prenotato. Nel frattempo il personale sembrava quasi infastidito dalla nostra presenza e nessuno di loro si è minimamente sentito in dovere di chiedere scusa per il disguido. Alcuni clienti mi hanno detto che è la norma e non un evento eccezionale (non posso confermare). Comprendo che il servizio in sala possa essere faticoso, ma non accetto un atteggiamento svogliato e indifferente.

Al tavolo ordino il famoso antipasto a “modo loro” completo di crudite. Buono ma non eccelso. Porzioni abbondanti. Visto la quantità delle portate, non ordino altro ad eccezione di un dolce che trovo davvero buono.

Conto decisamente troppo alto in relazione alla qualità del locale (sembra di entrare in un locale degli anni 80) e del servizio. Il cibo proposto, a mio avviso non riesce a sopperire a queste mancanze. Con la stessa cifra si cena in ristoranti di Livello decisamente superiore.

A mio modesto parere, questo ristorante, NON è assolutamente di buona qualità. Non basta una discreta cucina per chiamarsi ristorante. Forti lacune nella location e nella professionalità del personale di...
