Trattoria da Filippo — Restaurant in Milazzo

First of all the staff were friendly but they didn’t know English the communication was very hard. The menu was only in Italian. The food was overpriced, the most expensive thing from the seafood were the shrimps they come in portion of 5 pieces and because they were very “big” they sold them to us for 30€ instead of 25€. The shrimps were stinky and we couldn’t eat them but in the end we paid them in full… Also when we asked for ice cubes they said that the ice were finished. Overall the experience was not...

Today I ate very well again in Milazzo! We were 5 people and we all ate at the same time! The noodles were extremely tasty! There is a restaurant 10 meters away and I can't understand how it can survive next to such a blatant competitor!? Appetizer very tasty! Main course even better! Staff very nice and accommodating! Il piccolo locale è situato sul lungomare Garibaldi di Milazzo, a breve dovrebbe installare una pedana esterna per collocare alcuni tavoli, che così godrebbero di una bella vista sul mare. Il locale è pulito ed essendo a gestione familiare, il personale è particolarmente attento alle esigenze del cliente. La cucina offre dei buoni piatti ed utilizza ingredienti freschi e di qualità, probabilmente anche per questo il prezzo non è da trattoria, pur restando a livelli accettabili. Molto buoni gli antipasti ed i dolci, mentre i miei spaghetti alla disgraziata hanno sofferto di un eccesso di piccantezza. Siamo rimasti complessivamente soddisfatti e torneremo.

Siamo tornati a distanza di oltre un anno ed abbiamo trovato la sorpresa di una graziosa struttura esterna, che permette di pranzare comodamente all'esterno. La qualità degli ingredienti è sempre molto buona, ad esempio tra gli antipasti abbiamo apprezzato molto il palamito in agrodolce e quello speziato, mentre sono risultate meno interessanti le polpettine di pesce spada. Mi sono piaciuti gli spaghetti al cartoccio ed anche i gamberoni alla palermitana hanno riscosso il consenso di mia moglie. Molto dinamica la figlia del proprietario. Per quanto riguarda i prezzi, onestamente non sono bassi, ma ritengo che rientrino nella media, a parte il coperto che mi sembra altino. Un locale che...
