The Butcher's - American Barbecue, Hamburgeria e Braceria — Restaurant in Monopoli

I don't have much luck finding good places, but this was a fantastic one. I'm not sure how to qualify it, as they have high tables with bar stools. It sort of looks like a burger joint but serve great steaks too and the counter looks like at butchers. I guess that's where the name comes from. There is not a lot of thing on the menu, but when you select a steak, you are shown a few additional options to choose from. They speak English and are very friendly and helpful. To add to the atmosphere the main waiter (could be the boss) reminds me of Vin Diesel and there is 90's music in the background. The place is always busy (for a good reason) but there was at least a table or two free. I can't believe how the food can be so good and yet so inexpensive. Maybe next time I'll take more time to make some...

Arrived with my girlfriend and child. We were seated on a two person table. Not a great start. Only fizzy drinks for the child, no fruit juices.

None of this would have made me leave a poor review if the food had been great… it wasn’t.

I ordered the “Texas BBQ” beef rib, smoked over beachwood. It should have read “beef rib that’s been in the oven” as a keen BBQ fan I can taste the difference between BBQ meat that has been smoked and oven cooked beef.

The pulled pork was the same, relying on BBQ sauce for any BBQ flavour.

The little one had baked potato… that came as potatoes wedges.

Siamo stati da the butcher’s il 23 agosto 2025, ci siamo accomodati intorno alle ore 21:30 , avevamo prenotato un tavolo telefonicamente e sono stati molto rapidi nel farci accomodare. Ci ha servito Cosimo, il proprietario, ma di lui ve ne parlo tra poco, Abbiamo ordinato 1 porzione di patatine con Cacio e pepe, 1 picanha selezione premium, 1 spiedino di bombette, 1 porzioni di arrostìcini di pecora, 1 birra alla spina e 1 acqua, sulla carne non mi viene nient’altro da dire se non “WOW” , la cottura era perfetta, carne saporita, servita senza condimenti (no olio, no sale) UMAMI allo stato puro, tenera, succosa, di qualità insomma. Le patate Dippers con la fonduta di formaggio al pepe erano ottime e cotte bene, la selezione di birre nel menu è variegata e completa, il servizio è celere e super attento. Passiamo ora a Cosimo, ho avuto il piacere di farci una chiacchierata in cassa mentre ero in procinto di pagare, ho trovato in lui un vero imprenditore, ha un idea concreta e la persegue, senza troppi fronzoli, non insegue la fama ma la qualità e la passione nel proprio lavoro ed è questo che rende the butcher’s una vera chicca nel centro di Monopoli, passateci , non ve...
