Came here because of reviews, some of them compared this place to a Michelin star restaurant but this couldn't be further from the truth. We paid 166 euros for 5 course menu which was not fulfilling. The dishes tasted great, however the chef's efforts were absolutely ruined by an afwul service. You wouldn't expect this when you are spending this amount of money. Extremely arrogant, ignoring, bothered and had no knowledge of english language whatsoever, even though the menu was given fully in english. First of all, we waited 40 minutes for our order to be taken. We were 95% on our way to leave when we finally got the attention of the service. The waitress was giving stares to my partner, and didn't pay attention to our calls. Instead she would make an eye contact and then ignore us right after, for 40 minutes. After we finally ordered the tasting menu, we were purposely getting bad service such us filling up wine glass only for one of us, even though both wine glasses were empty. The presentation of the dishes were given in extremely quick italian, that not even my partner who luckily speaks fluent Italian, couldn't understand what is being presented. I was not even considered to be bothered with when it came to requests due to lack of understanding of english language. Other than getting a nice table and having a great sunset view which was a huge attraction for us, I would totally recommend everyone to avoid this place, unless you are looking for being treated poorly. Rather choose a different local restaurant which offers the same benefits in terms of location and sceneries for...
Read moreMy partner and me spent some time on the beach in Montallegro and we were attracted by this beautiful restaurant. It looks very refined and, after reading the reviews online and seeing the beautiful dishes they serve, we decided to pop in for a drink at the bar with the idea of looking at the menu and book for dinner. Unfortunately, once we approached the entrance, one of the people from the staff (I suppose the “capo sala or owner”) told us to turn around and take another path in a very unpleasant way because people passing by to go to the bar would have bothered customers (like we were not going to be customers). I would have understood the same comment if delivered in a more polite way. Once I replied back that the bar area was literally 4 steps from us and that going back to reach the same area would have been pretty ridiculous, this person started shouting at me that “rules are rules”. Useless to say that we were forced to leave and get a drink somewhere else. We live abroad from many years and we never witnessed a behaviour like this in any hospitality venue. It’s very easy to convey messages if delivered in a nice way especially because you never know who you are talking to. Shame we couldn’t try this restaurant, but luckily we found fantastiche hosts in...
Read moreIf you are in the area this is a must try. The restaurant combines elegant food with a beautiful setting and incredible sunset views that match the quality and flavors of the dishes.
The fish was tender and fresh, elevated by a wasabi cream that paired perfectly. The cured fish had a stronger flavor, nicely balanced by its sauce. The real standout though was the anchovy butter pasta; Simple yet refined and it was wow, a full of flavor moment and surely the highlight of the evening. Another pasta with tomato sauce and shrimps that we tried was also very good. Portions are small to medium but satisfying, and the wine selection is excellent with great value.
Dessert was the only part that felt less special. It was light and airy but lacked the same kick and character of the other dishes. Even so, I would return here time and again without hesitation, highly...
