Pizzeria Ristorante Il Mondo Degli Gnomi — Restaurant in Montespertoli

We were looking for some ambience for a relaxed inexpensive lunch and decided on the pizzeria because it had outside seating near the larger plaza. It was nice to be outside but the food was a little disappointing. Out of the 4.5 of us dining 1 person was happy with his meal: The pasta with parmesan and pepper, although it was a bit cheesey for my liking (we tried the same dish elsewhere and it was much more fresh). The seafood pasta wasnt fresh understandably. The pasta with mushrooms was very oily (by Italian standards too) and the cheese gnocchi was extremely rich. The spinach side was too salty to eat but we were happy to receive a refund for this dish. The caprese salad was good and all portions were generous. We would have liked pizza but it is only available in the evening.

Overall service was friendly if a bit slow. We had a little trouble communicating (we were a party of English and Spanish speakers). We asked for gnocchi with a tomato based sauce but were told it wasnt possible. Then we saw gnocchi with ragu come out for the table next to us. It seems our waiter thought we were asking for cheese gnocchi with ketchup 😅.

There is a very large indoor play area for children which was a big plus with a 2.5 year old. It would probably be super convenient when dining inside.

The ladies toilet was not usable due to what looked like a recent messy mishap. We found hair in the seafood pasta and sent a glass back because it was very obviously in need of a clean.

Overall out bill came to 70€ (4 pasta dishes, 2 side dishes, 2 glasses of wine, water, 2 soft drinks ... no coffee as the machine was broken). Which I thought was a bit much for the whole experience compared to other restaurants...

Our starving group of 10 arrived as they were getting ready to close for the afternoon. They compassionately seated us since there was nowhere else to eat at that hour. They served us a couple of Bisteca Fiorentina of our choice as well as a fabulous display of regional appetizers. Everything was fresh and delicious. All of our guests found something to rave about. Siamo andati in due a cena, in occasione della mostra del vino Chianti, che si tiene nella piazza su cui si affaccia con una veranda. La temperatura era ideale e siamo stati davvero bene, a contatto con la festa ma comunque separati dal caos. Eravamo senza prenotazione ma siamo stati comunque accolti prontamente. Ci è stato illustrato il menu e siamo stati ottimamente consigliati su cosa e quanto ordinare. Hanno pizze normali o in versione "pala", più grandi e appena più spesse perché fatte con 3 dosi di pasta. Ne abbiamo presa una in due, con sopra due diversi condimenti scelti dal menù. Buonissimo l'impasto, cotto al punto giusto, e molto buono anche il condimento. Porzione ben calibrata per due. Servizio abbastanza veloce e cortese e prezzo, tutto sommato, nella norma.
