Ristorante Castellucci — Restaurant in Montevarchi

Got in Montevarchi just for a night...a stop on a longer road. Across the street from our hotel found this restaurant. Entrance-you need to think twice- but es you are in you want to stay there. Familiar and classy- at the same time (?!). Very fast and prompt personnel. Food was great (probably the best noodles i ever had). The wine was good as well (you have a lot to choose). At the end a rather modest bill. Oh- did i mention the Bistecca Fiorentina? This is for sure the runner in this restaurant! A great T-bone. Locals also love this restaurant. The restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb hosts and we were super happy with it, so good we went back the next night.

The staff in the resto are great and were happy to make recommendations and although tipping isn’t common, it’s well deserved here.

Portions are tasty and big; the first night we ordered both first and second plates and the second night, just the Florentine Steak

The pasta is good but the steak is great. Well cut and cooked on the coals and relatively rare

Sono stato in questa trattoria con mia moglie dietro consiglio di amici. L'atmosfera era simpatica con un'aria un po' rustica nel complesso,arriviamo(con tanto di prenotazione) e ci sbattono in un angolo della sala perché avevamo con noi la nostra inseparabile cagnolina(voglio precisare che ha 14anni è più o meno ceca quasi del tutto sorda e che dorme praticamente tutto il giorno,quindi non crea nessun fastidio di alcun tipo)quindi già partiamo male. Andiamo per ordinare e già per un problema loro siamo obbligati a bere acqua naturale perche la gassata era guasta(ora io dico ma andare a comprare una dozzina di casse di acqua feizzante e non creare questo disservizio al cliente no?!?vabbè) il servizio è stato gentile(il cameriere più giovane) molto sbrigativo(il cameriere più anziano), ma un po' troppo lento perché non ci consideravano neanche. Vi dico solo che tra gli unici due primi che abbiamo preso e il dolce a mezzo per di più abbiamo aspettato mezz'ora. Il cibo è stato una piacevole sorpresa, ho mangiato benissimo e le porzioni erano abbondanti(ma un po' troppo cari), peccato davvero per il conto (e per la non curanza di alcuni camerieri) perché è stato più alto di quanto mi aspettassi. Sinceramente non ci tornerò, con quei prezzi è quel mezzo servizio che ripeto ha salvato in extremis il cameriere più giovane quindi in teoria con meno...
