Me and my wife were in Naples for four days. We had pizza everyday and pasta all but one day. This was by far the best pizza we had in Naples and the best pizza of our life, we both agreed. We got two pizzas at 50 kalo, we got two pizzas at Sorbillo, (we did not get to try Michele cause we heard it’s slightly overrated and the wait times can be egregious in busy season, so I can not compare vs that). Get the Diavola pizza. The Arancini are also fantastic. We ate there two nights with different staff and can say it was a 5/5 both times. The first time I was accidentally given the premium Peroni rather than the basic one(1/3 of the price), but I think it may have been a language barrier. The staff were super nice and the first night there we saw MANY Neapolitan’s grabbing pizza to go, so it made me certain the pizza was respected amongst the locals( you can see a local man in one of our photos who ordered 5 pizza to go) . The street is also charming, and though it is down an alley, it is right off a fancy-ish and touristy street and we felt very safe going there both times. Much more authentic than the other two places, In both our opinions. Pasta was 2nd best we had in Naples, simple but still fantastic and better than many of the great Italian restaurants you’ll go too in the states, at least. Staff was super nice and friendly. Sorbillo and 50 Kalo were nice for how busy and stressful those restaurants were, but they do not have the warm mess...
Read moreThe most authentic experience we have had in Naples and everywhere else. The restaurant is a family business as stated on their entrance. They only serve pizza and a few small dishes such as deserts or potato croquettes. The waiter we think is the father. The kindest and most energetic waiter we ever had. He made our experience the best yet. He doesn’t know any English but that was not a problem. We were able to order, to have a small chat with him and even with his son. The prices are very small, only 2,5 euro for a big beer, 6 euro for a Margarita, 6 for a glass of wine. They have 4 tables outside and 1 inside. So you will never have to wait more than 10 minutes for your food. The pizza was delicious. We don’t have a wide experience with Neapolitan Pizza but we can say this was the best we had so far. Don’t be fooled by the small number of reviews. The small number is because there are only locals or Italians who go here. We were the only foreigners there. I recommend this place with my heart. They even gave us their business card at the end. Very nice family, great prices and...
Read moreGo visit our new friend Massimo who I guess owns this place? In Naples for a week and we went here three times. Had pizza in three or four other places and none were as good as this.
Crust is made on site (which apparently is not true of many of the ubiquitous pizza places in Naples). Lots of choices of toppings. We had the classic - Margharita, along with several varieties both veggie and meat. The crust was fabulous and had the perfect chew - crispy outside crust and delicious interior. Dabbled with a tasty, well-balanced sauce and just the right proportion of cheese, this pizza was satisfying in every way!
Plus, Massimo’s enthusiasm and graciousness were unbounded! On our last night, walking back from our cooking class, he insisted on treating to glasses of wine. On our last day, before boarding the train to Bologna, we went there for him to make us sandwiches to order. His enthusiasm was as infectious at 9:00 in the morning as it was at...
