Great find while driving through Valpolicella, cozy restaurant with fresh excellent food and fresh home made bread and grinis (not store bought). The menu had a great local Italian/German influence, with local ingredients, a simple honest approach to each dish to respect the quality of ingredients. The server took care of us easily, despite the language barrier, with great care. The owner also came and doted over us making sure we had everything we needed, several times. He then greeted us outside while we were leaving asking if we liked the meal and thanking us for coming. The best down-home trattoria in Valpolicella. Although the cute nonna cannot speak English, there was no problem to order the food. It's simple and very delicious. If you want to eat down-to-earth, regional and good food and have a panoramic view of the region Valpolicella, then you should visit Trattoria Dalla Bice. The food is excellent value for money. I personally recommend to try the fried aubergines with the pickled onions. What a great combination - and actually I don't like aubergines. Piccola perla culinaria nel cuore della Valpolicella, un locale consigliato ed ottimo per chi ricerca nei piatti i sapori autentici e tradizione. Consigliato tagliere di salumi e formaggi per un viaggio tra i prodotti tipici della lessinia Primi, pasta fatta in casa che ha proprio quel gusto che ti porta nelle cucine di una volta dove la pasta veniva fatta a mano.... I sughi e i ragù sono ricchi di sapore e gusto, pochi ingredienti ma di prima qualità con cotture che ne esaltano i sapori, le quantità di sugo nella pasta sono un valore aggiunto che rende la portata ricca, non viene lesinato nulla. (Consigliatissimo il ragù di cinghiale ...assaggiate e capirete il perché ) Secondi: anche qui la materia prima fa la differenza, prodotti ottimi e trattati al fine di esaltarne il gusto, senza stravaganze ma rispettando le carni....cotture sempre azzeccate.
