Drive up was an adventure, switch back roads with lava rocks on the other side of the guard rails. Felt like a 30 degree difference up here vice the sunny Elephant Square we left from. So bring a jacket. We were one of three tables and Chef was walking through and gave us advise on what to order based on what we told him we liked. I had the daily special pasta, red sauce, peas and cheese. It was very filling. Desert was nice, different cakes and Italian pastry. Wine was house wine and went with the meal but not something I would order again. View was amazing and the gift shop had everything our group was looking for and more. The location is wonderful, you can see the entire valley starting from the top of the volcano to end with the Catania's valley. Unfortunately there is a "BUT" and I am talking about the food which is worth no more than 2 stars. The starter was little bit sad and the two main courses that we ordered were not cooked with local ingredients at zero km as you would expect to find from a restaurant at the base of the Etna (like locals mushrooms, salami and so on so on).
