Pizzeria Funchal — Restaurant in Olbia

Funchal is my favourite pizzeria in Olbia. Alessandro, his family and staff are extremely polite and efficient. There are various seating options: al fresco, inside the lovely conservatory area at the front and, if it's a little breezy, inside the original restaurant itself. I am mostly giving this rating to balance things out. I would have given 3 stars. For the price, you will get very good service and a decent meal. However, ingredients are basic and not very flavorful. The place seems heavily catered to tourists with American popular music.

Locale molto carino ed accogliente. Abbiamo ordinato tre pizze, ed il cameriere ci ha gentilmente detto che, essendo un orario di punta, e di domenica, l'attesa si sarebbe aggirata attorno alla mezz'ora. Ci ha proposto quindi delle patatine assieme al bere, per smorzare il tempo d'attesa. Attesa che non è durata mezz'ora, ma più di un'ora! Alla consegna delle pizze è arrivata la motivazione che il tempo impiegato risultava fuori dagli standard del locale, e che di conseguenza il dessert sarebbe stato offerto. La pizza, essendo comunque buona al gusto, aveva la pasta di una consistenza troppo rigida, che rendeva non solo difficile tagliarla, ma anche infilzarla con la forchetta. Può darsi che questo possa essere stato un problema correlato all'attesa, per cui non è nota da considerare in maniera assoluta. Arrivati al dessert ho potuto constatare la bontà dei dolci artigianali, avendo assaggiato una panna cotta che finalmente sapeva di panna! Anche il caffè devo dire abbastanza gradevole, al contrario di altri locali ugualmente e maggiormente rinomati. Se posso darvi un consiglio, evitate di utilizzare i carciofi sott'olio: è una brutta abitudine delle pizzerie, ed anche se sgocciolati, ne rimane comunque il sapore, il che rende cacogeusica la pizza.
