Never ever in my life would I have imagined that such an awful place could exist in Italy! The country of good taste and good food, where I come 2-3 times per year since ages... This "restaurant" functions like this: you arrive, pick up a menu and a number and wait outside for your turn to come. Then you go to the cashier, PAY (!!) and go in the eating area, which is composed of approx 30 tables with plastic chairs under some tents. You pick up a tray, glasses and cuttlery and wait at the table to be called and go YOURSELF to pick up the "food". Even if it is all about self-service, you pay a " coperto" of 2 eur/person. The food is of very poor quality, and extremely expensive. We paid for 2 horrible antipasti, four fishes (aquacultured, although we were in a place right next to the water; they called one of the four fishes "anguilla" but it was a blackish, dubious, smoked and afterwards deep fried slices of "something" which could have been anything but not a fish), some deep fried, too salty vegetables and two tasteless tomatoes cut into pieces 94 euros!!! (Amount which I am ready to pay and I pay every evening for good quality food in nice restaurants.) While you eat and after you eat, a guy comes and cleans the table, disposing everything in one of the large bins right next to the tables! The only reason why we have not left was because we were hungry and tired. I attach some pictures. I am terribly sorry I did not take pictures of the "food" as well.

Die Vorspeise für meinen Mann kam dann 20 Minuten später. Weitere 20 Minuten später kam dann sein Hauptgericht, seine Antipasti (gegrillte Paprika ) wurde noch nicht serviert. Ich wartete noch immer auf meinen Salat. Als mein Mann fast fertig war mit der Hauptspeise, kam dann doch endlich mein Hauptgericht. Das Essen war gut, aber eigentlich wollte ich mit meinem Mann gemeinsam Essen. Nachdem ich fertig war, haben wir die Bedienung nach dem Salat und den Paprika gefragt. Weitere 15 Minuten später gab's dann den kalten gegrillten Paprika und den Salat ohne Öl und Gewürze, die auf Nachfrage dann noch gebracht wurden. Leider schmeckte das Olivenöl irgendwie alt und ranzig. Unser Fazit: Die Küche ist mit der Anzahl der Gäste/Bestellungen völlig überfordert, gemeinsam schön entspannt Essen gehen, geht auch ganz anders. Wir haben den Eindruck, dass die Küche immer nur ein Gericht gleichzeitig rausschickt und dann das nächste in Massenfertigung zusammenstellt. Die Kellner hatten irgendwie immer die gleichen Gerichte an verschiedenen Tischen serviert. Am Nachbartisch hatte der Mann bereits lange aufgegessen und die Dame bekam dann auf erneute Nachfrage 30 minuten später dann doch noch ihrem Fisch+Salat (ohne Öl etc.). Die Art und Weise, wie man dort bedient wird, hat den Charme einer Kantine, Wohlfühlen und als Gast wahrgenommen werden ist leider Fehlanzeige. Schade eigentlich für solch einen tollen Standort direkt an der Lagune. Leider haben wir uns von den bereits vorhandenen Bewertungen mehr versprochen,die nicht gerechtfertigt sind. Mein Tipp für die Betreiber: WENIGER IST MANCHMAL MEHR !

The location couldn’t be more perfect: right by the water, with a relaxed atmosphere that feels truly local. The seafood was outstanding — fresh, simple, and full of flavour. You can tell this is a place loved by the community. Service was warm and efficient, even with our small group. A wonderful highlight of our day in this charming port town

Authentic, Local, and Absolutely Delicious We visited Pescatori as part of a small Silversea Cruises tour — no crowds, no tourists, just an intimate and authentic experience in Porto Santo Stefano. The location couldn’t be more perfect: right by the water, with a relaxed atmosphere that feels truly local. The seafood was outstanding — fresh, simple, and full of flavour. You can tell this is a place loved by the community. Service was warm and efficient, even with our small group. A wonderful highlight of our day in this charming port town

This is by far the worst we have ever been to, after a week in Italy a week, eating out nightly. We waited 40 min for the restaurant to open on a Sunday night,  although according to Google maps,  they've been open all day.  They were booked outside , we agreed to sit inside.  The wooden bench was dusty. The chairs were too low compared to the table.  We had to ask for the fan to be turned on.  And I wouldn't have bothered to write about it, if the rest would have been good.  But NO. Then we waited for a while.  A very rude waitress, although speaking English, laid a paper menu and commanded "fill in the food and drinks order", in a very blunt way.

Two pastas arrived.  They tasted ok. The antipasti didn't. Together with the "mixed" salad, lettuce and tomatoes only,  came only after a reminder. We had to ask for olive oil and balsamic.  Otherwise,  no taste to the salad. They forgot the ravioli. (The only option that could be made  vegetarian,  for me).

The raw fish antipasti was not really raw, not carpaccio  .

We waited long long time for the fish. By that time,  others that arrived with us were almost done eating. Then the marinated eel came cold and nobody could keep a single bite. The grilled fish were reported to be good. They come with nothing,  you have to order separately any side. And the worst,  while waiting for the fish,  we asked for another menu to order more food,  because we realized that we won't have enough... the waitress said - no you can't order more!!! inconceivable!!!

My wife had to go somewhere else with the kids.

I'd rather they'd tell us they don't have the capacity.

And they didn't care about any of my...

Non avrei mai voluto scrivere una recensione come questa, cerco sempre di trovare il buono nei posti in cui andiamo e avendo fatto la cameriera per anni ho molta empatia con chi deve gestire una sala con molte persone. Tuttavia la non professionalità di uno dei camerieri che ci ha servito è degna di nota.

Entriamo alle 12:30 nel ristorante e ordiniamo subito tre primi, due antipasti e, dato che volevamo bere bene, la bottiglia più cara del listino (20€ ma valida). La bottiglia ci viene portata dopo poco e chiediamo dei calici in cui poterli bere dato che a tavola c'erano solo i bicchieri da acqua. Ci viene detto che non danno bicchieri a calice perché ne rompono troppi. Increduli non rispondiamo e chiediamo ad un secondo cameriere che ci conferma la scelta. Dato che mio marito è sommelier, e dato che eravamo reduci da un fine settimana impegnativo, decido di andare al bancone e chiedere gentilmente almeno un calice di quelli che avevano in bella mostra. Dopo un po' di tentennamenti mi viene dato con la specifica di "solo uno però" e con la nota che non li danno perché vengono spesso rotti e che servendo molte persone il ristorante ha deciso così altrimenti ci rimettono. Fino a qui tutto bene.

Mio marito ci resta male che avevo preso un bicchiere solo per lui e che non ne avrei avuto uno anche io e lo dice lamentandosene ad alta voce. Il cameriere che mi ha dato il bicchiere appare allora di colpo sbattendo un secondo bicchiere vicino a me e bofonchiando sulla maleducazione e cose varie. Io resto allibita anche perché alla fine è solo un bicchiere e non mi sembrava di aver chiesto la Luna. La cosa diventa sempre più noiosa dato che ogni volta che quel cameriere passava vicino a noi bofonchiava e ci faceva capire che si riferiva a noi. Ripeto, solo per aver chiesto due calici che danno in tutti i ristoranti quando si ordina una bottiglia.

Detto questo, hanno perso parte del nostro ordine e un primo è arrivato con almeno 45 minuti di ritardo rispetto all'altro primo e solo perché lo abbiamo chiesto due volte a due camerieri diversi.

Dal punto di vista culinario devo dire che ci ricordavo molto meglio: l'antipasto non era niente di che e i sughi erano acidi e il pesce poteva essere anche surimi da quello che si poteva intuire dato che era tutto coperto dal pomodoro.

Grande tristezza perché il posto è famoso ed evidentemente ormai vive della sua fama.
