Borgo Antico Bistrot — Restaurant in Ostuni

The view was beautiful. The food was pretty good, very beautifully presented. Prices are extremely reasonable. However, We sat at our table for about 25 minutes before the waiter came to the table.

When he walked up he made an aggressive hand gesture which made me confused. As I was looking at him to understand, he quite literally YELLED at me “let’s go! Order! Order! Order!” I was extremely embarrassed and taken aback, but tried to order for myself and my children as quickly as possible. Before I was able to finish, he said “that’s enough!” And walked away. My husband had to gesture to him to come back several times so he could order his salad.

I felt pretty upset because we had been so excited to try this place after seeing the reviews. I was completely enamored with the esthetic, and so excited to try the beautiful boards. I tried not to let his poor treatment effect me, but it was difficult.

Just make sure you don’t have any questions whatsoever about the menu, and don’t pause for a second and you may have a better...

My husband and I visited Borgo Antico Bistrot and WE HAD THE BEST SANDWICHES. We ordered two Apulian pucces - Caciottina (eggplants and zucchini) and Cime e polo (octopus). The octopus was so soft and melted in my mouth and the combination of all those fresh ingredients with cheese was just perfect. We have tried other famous sandwich shops around Italy and we both agreed that Borgo Antico’s pucce was the best one. The restaurant also had a beautiful setting and an amazing view. I decided to visit this place after finding it on the internet with many reviews. The view is nice, but the service and what I ordered it was below my expectations... They served me a tiramisu that had only cream, without any biscotti inside, which made it not a tiramisu at all. The mascarpone was very heavy and therefore not eatable.. How can you eat something that is just fat?! When I told them that the tiramisu contained only mascarpone, they replied that this is how they make tiramisu. Very disappointing... I do not necessarily recommend this place... since it did not match the very appreciated reviews I had...
