As a couple we visited Veganda as a quick stop for lunch and ordered a “classic” and “mushroom” burger. We obviously missed that this cool dinner-like restaurant atmosphere was strictly vegan. Maybe we also misinterpreted the meaning of “burger” which typically means a patty of ground beef grilled and placed between two halves of a bun. Veganda uses a loose interpretation of “burger,” as applied to any cut bun with a hot filling, even when the filling does not contain beef, such as a chicken burger, salmon burger, pulled pork burger, veggie burger, etc. Veganda also does not specify that what is in between the bun is a Vegan Pattie. Vegan patties are typically beans (especially soybeans and tofu), nuts, grains, seeds, or fungi such as mushrooms or mycoprotein. These vegan burgers have a high proportion of an ultra-processed food, which are typically associated with poor health outcomes. Also, the lectin protein of plants are known to damage the gastrointestinal (GI) lining resulting in the creation of gaps of the GI lining responsible for a host of health and disease problems. So, after an hour of eating only half of this burger creation we both felt abdominal discomfort and cramps. Not a good outcome for something that is toted as health food and costs nearly 10 euro each. I was really grossed out when the staff behind the counter handling food sneezed in to his hands and never bothered to wash before handling customers products. Veganda was a different experience we wish to...
Read moreI was there a while ago, the reply from the owner seems to mistake me for someone else. When I was there I paid for my meal but was somewhat disappointed in the quality and price. I felt like not enough care had been put into the meal. I was very excited to try this place as a vegan, but coming from a country where vegan options are plenty and very good, it felt like I was stepping back in time. The meal was okay, but definitely not good enough for the price. It’s also a bad look to make the costumer pay for ketchup when ordering a burger, especially when it was around 15€ if I remember correctly. I would suggest making the menu smaller and focusing on making a few dishes really really well with fresh ingredients to justify the price or make the menu smaller and make the same food but for a cheap price. Maybe it was just a bad day for you and the food is usually great, I know the cakes looked nice, although some seemed to have been there for longer than they should, but that was my experience and that’s why I...
Read moreAte there twice, I was very disappointed each time. I thought the first time could have been just bad luck. Honestly one of the worst pizze I ever ate! The food is overpriced, too. I do not understand all the good ratings. Also, the aftertaste of the cakes was like soap.
