Four star food but two star service. Four of us ate at the restaurant on Liberation day. The owner was clearly put out that we arrived late for our 8pm reservation albeit that other diners continued to arrive for some time after our arrival. The food was good value, well cooked and well presented. We all agreed that the mussels were some of the best that we had ever eaten and the main courses were well presented and well cooked. Unfortunately the evening was spoilt somewhat by the dreadful service. The owner was mainly concerned with sharing a table with his friends and took no active part in the service. The two waiting staff whilst pleasant had perfected the 'no eye contact technique' with diners - on occasions we resorted going to the bar area to get service. Very poor. I was treated to a wonderful dining experience. The food was magnificent. I left it to my friends to order from the varied menu as they have their favourites. We shared the entres of Mussels, Clams and perfectly fried prawns and zucchini dusted in a very light batter. Our main courses were also excellent, I had the bream, pan cooked to perfection with tomatoes and sweet peppers. Washed down with very good local wine.
