Acqua Marina — Restaurant in Pescara

Big disappointment.🙁

I ordered the lunch menu (14€) and honestly it was a waste of money. The seafood was almost non-existent - a few small pieces hidden in a mountain of gnocchi, I was served six small pieces of fried cod, but they contained very little actual fish - almost all batter, with just a tiny amount of meat inside. It can’t really be considered a proper seafood dish when the main ingredient is basically missing.🤯

For a place advertised as a seafood restaurant, I expected fresh fish and generous portions, not 90% carbs and 10% seafood.😢

Service was also very poor. I had to wait with an empty glass for 15 minutes, completely ignored, even though there were only two other tables occupied. Eventually I had to go inside myself just to order another glass of wine, while the chef was outside smoking.

Later I tried a grilled seafood skewer, but again it was a letdown – the coating was undercooked and floury, I had to scrape it off to be able to eat it. This is not how seafood should be prepared in Italy.☹️

In total I spent 37€ (menu + extra dish + wine), and left feeling frustrated and still hungry. I have traveled all around Italy, from big cities to small towns, and this is honestly the worst seafood experience I’ve ever had. I really don’t understand how this place has such...

Siamo stati in questo locale attirati dall’insegna che indicava un pranzo completo di pesce a 14 euro. Purtroppo, l’esperienza non è stata all’altezza delle aspettative: ci siamo ritrovati a pagare 50 euro per due piatti di spaghetti alle vongole, che – oltre a essere scotti – contenevano vongole con sabbia (abbiamo mangiato lo stesso per fame, ma ciò non giustifica assolutamente una spesa del genere in un locale che si presenta esternamente come una gastronomia di pesce e non certo come un ristorante di lusso). Nel menù esposto all’esterno (allego in foto a questa recensione) il piatto di spaghetti alle vongole è indicato a 11€, mentre sullo scontrino ce lo hanno fatto pagare 15€ a porzione: una discrepanza davvero inaccettabile. Inoltre, ci è stato addebitato un extra di 5 euro per una “pizza dolce” che non abbiamo mai ordinato né ricevuto, a meno che il prezzo non si riferiva ad una minuscola sfogliatina con crema fatta con preparato industriale, il che è semplicemente insensato. Infine, un semplice calice di vino, servito mezzo vuoto, è stato fatto pagare la bellezza di 7€, e una bottiglietta d'acqua 3€ ... Non commento nemmeno... Un peccato davvero, perché la proposta sembrava interessante, ma la mancanza di chiarezza nei prezzi e la qualità del cibo di certo non all’altezza ci porteranno a...

Everything was great. Shrimp Catalan salad was both new, I teresting and fantastic- great surprise. Grilled calamari was very good, spaghetti w garlic, and peppers had just perfect spice. I shall return tomorrow to try the mussels in pepper.

Lunch was delicious, too. But I ate WAY too much...
