First time ever at Toccaferro after wishing to eat here for ages. What an incredible experience, on so many levels! June 2nd was a holiday and the restaurant was very busy. Booked a table on the phone for 2:30pm and we show up as planned. Table was not available yet and the waiters kindly explained us the reason: because they were waiting for guests who had finished lunch to leave and the staff did not pressure them to leave at all. This is typical in Italy and in Pescara and I really appreciated this policy from owners and staff. This is true Italian hospitality!
We eventually sat down a little later. Staff was very polite, efficient and professional.
The menu is very, very inviting and offers a huge range of delicacies and local traditional dishes.
It was simply amazing to learn that the entire menu was available for both lunch and dinner! It is not at all easy to find traditional meats on the grill and wood-burning pizza at lunchtime!!
The food was delicious, simply beyond our expectations. Wine selection is very good and I praise their commitment to local Abruzzo wines.
Despite the late afternoon, the staff never made us feel that we were overstaying...it was busy till 5pm with their lunch service!
Excellent experience on all levels.
Congrats to the Owners on their...

I ordered my dinner and a bottle of wine and sat and wanted to enjoy my evening since I’m solo travelling. They came to me at 10 past 9, an hour and 10 minutes after I arrived and said the table was booked for 9pm, so she asked “are you done?” - at that stage the bottle was halfway. Long story short, the hostess who told the waiter to seat me there spoke perfect English until I said no one told me the table had a time limit and she claimed to not understand English. No one gave me the option to sit somewhere else and finish my wine, considering there were multiple empty tables. Also unclear as to why my table was the one needed when there were so many that could’ve been made available.
The only star in my review is for the one or two waitresses I had that were lovely, otherwise it was absolutely horrible service and like I said, the food wasn’t that good - had barely...

Beer and salami taglio was great to start with, but main pasta course had a weird stew sauce, two bits of dry beef and the pasta too al dente and split. Worst tiramisù I've ever tasted. No taste of liquor, not even coffee. Tasted like biscuits soaked in water, hence, me thinks it was an old stock. How can this be possible in Italy?! They give bread, sliced, in a paper bag. Really? What a waste of paper in world full of stuff needed to be recycled! Only saving grace was young girl server who was attentive and enthusiastic. The other women servers miserable and cold in manner. Got a feeling this is a chain company (similar too Ask in UK) hence why nothing...
