RONIN japanese experience — Restaurant in Portici

We would've never gone to a sushi place of all places while in Italy (I LOVE Italian food), but we stayed at a nearby hotel, and I bumped into Ronin and their Google reviews while looking for a dinner place. And when I read what other people had experienced I said to my husband "maybe we should try this place out, since it has such raving reviews". So we did. And boy did they deliver, we certainly weren't disappointed. Although I have to say it started out a little awkward at first. We were the only people in the restaurant (Friday night, 7:30), and I got a little frustrated with their menu being only in Italian, only on their website, and the wifi connection being so lousy the pictures wouldn't upload. So at first I really didn't know what all of them were (I'm not a huge sushi fan, so I'm not aware of the specific terms and names of the different types of sushi), and it was difficult to choose anything. But after a little google research and translation we were able to pick a few different dishes. And they. Were. So. Good. I'm telling you. They. Were. So. Freaking. Amazing. Hands down the Best sushi I've ever had. They were so fresh and so tasty they practically melted in your mouth. After our first order we were still a little hungry so the lovely young lady from the restaurant helped us to choose a couple of more dishes, which were...

Son sempre più convinta che le opportunità è sempre meglio darle al cibo che alle persone. I gusti cambiano, migliorano, si affinano, si maturano..invece le persone fanno tanto “bla bla bla” ma alla fine, quasi sempre, rimangono autentiche a sé stesse con gli stessi difetti, le stesse mancanze e le stesse negatività con le quali le avevi conosciute e appunto messe da parte perché non affini al tuo animo.

Con il cibo è diverso. È sempre una scoperta, un'emozione ed una gioia e..esso non ti farà male, nell'accezione morale del termine chiaro, ma sarà sempre lì pronto a sorprenderti e a incuriosirti costantemente. E quando sembra che lo hai ormai conosciuto, c'è sempre quel gusto, quella consistenza, quel sapore che ti è sfuggito..che non pensavi di poter provare..o riprovare.. Ecco perché è giusto dargli sempre una buona opportunità, qualsiasi essa sia.

Spesso mi capita di essere reticente e qualche volta anche un po' pregiudicante lo ammetto, ma ho imparato un po' alla volta a lasciarmi andare e a non avere paura e così è stato anche questa sera.

Un'esperienza giapponese fantastica con un buon pesce fresco accompagnato da un fresco Vermentino, ottimi prodotti, e qualità eccellente.

Sì, confermo fermamente! Meglio dare opportunità al cibo che alle persone! 😍
