Trattoria Oltre Mare — Restaurant in Porto Empedocle

We came to Porto Empedocle after visiting the Valley of Temples in Agrigento in the morning, to look around (the old town is small and pretty, a must-see for Camilleri and Montalbano-fans) and to get a nice typical-Sicilian seafood lunch. The Trattoria was ideal for this, and we loved to be more adventurous to get whatever they have on that day (at lunchtime i think it's less to choose from, but it was still not easy to pick!). We had the best black mussels ever and the spaghetti with crab was amazing!! (The crabmeat is already mixed with the pasta but utensils are available if you like to operate more out of the creature's shell). The best seafood pasta we’ve had in Italy! The seafood boscaiola in particular was to die for. We went on a Sunday before closing time and they welcomed us very warmly. The waitress was very helpful and spoke English to us when we couldn’t understand something.
