Sciálo — Restaurant in Porto Empedocle

We walked in, but nobody greeted us. We had to sit down by ourselves while the staff stayed busy chatting with each other and completely ignored us. After about 10 minutes, someone finally came over and brought us two menus. One of them had sticky pages and smelled strongly of beer, while the other was simply very dirty. The menus were thrown onto the table without eye contact, and when I said “thank you,” the waiter was already walking away with his back to us.

Such a rude and unprofessional attitude is unacceptable, especially in a tourist city. I truly hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their service, so that other customers will not be treated the same way. After this unpleasant experience, we...

We had pizza here recently and it was overall an enjoyable experience. The restaurant is centrally located in Porto Empedocle and has a relatively spartan and reduced interior, with some seating outside on the street too. We ordered the Marinara (mixed seafood) and the Buffalina (cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella). Both pizzas arrived quickly and were tasty. The Buffalina was slightly better in my view than the Marinara and substantially cheaper but the Marinara was nice too (a tiny bit too cheese-heavy for my taste but that’s personal preference) and I didn’t regret my choice. ci siamo fatti guidare da vista e olfatto: cercavamo dove cenare, i miei figli ed io, e siamo stati attratti prima dai profumi e poi dalla vista di pizze e taglieri di fritti, salumi e formaggi. Il locale era strapieno ma le sensazioni provate prima e la cortesia del personale ci hanno spinto ad aspettare. Mai decisione fu più saggia: abbiamo iniziato con un piatto di fritti con patatine, mozzarelline, crocchette e panelle... niente di che direte voi ... e invece no!! i fritti sono un'arte ... devono essere caldi, croccanti fuori e morbidi dentro, salati al punto giusto e ASCIUTTI ... e allo Scíalo rasentano la perfezione. Le pizze poi non erano da meno. Abbiamo preso una Scíalo 2.o una Deliziosa e una Margherita... Le due speciali avevano dei sapori così ben armonizzati che, nonostante fossero ben condite, si sono fatte mangiare fino alla fine.
