Ristorante Acropoli — Restaurant in Porto Recanati

Pizza - my most favourite meal and they have without a doubt the best pizza ever. I am from Czech republic and I am coming back to Italy each year, to this area, since like my 4 years of age and I fell in love with the pizza from this restaurant eventhough I tried many others around. Been returning to Acropoli for like 10-15 years in a row. The taste of dough is just perfect, you can feel the wood fire oven and some special kind of "aromatic" wood they use in it. The base ingredients (pomodorro, mozarella) are of high quality. Especially the mozarella makes it even better, not sure what kind of mozarella it is exactly, but it makes a big difference. Try a simple Margherita and you will understand what I am talking about. I always order 2 pizzas and almost manage to eat both alone. Other meals here are good as well based on what others at my table say. Update 2021-2023: Still the best pizza...

It's 2020. A year of pandemic, Italian tourism sector has taken a hit. One could think, that during that time restaurants could have invested just a little bit of effort into staff to attract more customers. Not everyone speaks Italian - would love to speak more, but then again, Im the customer, not linguist. The young bar attender did not speak even basic English at all, she mixed orders (coffe instead of aperetivo) and made a lame spritz of 60% aperol, 30% soda and a dash of prosecco. Abbiamo frequentato questo ristorante molti anni fa, in occasione del nostro anniversario di matrimonio, quando la figlia del proprietario era ancora una bambina. Ricordiamo con piacere il proprietario, che veniva sempre a salutare con cortesia, e anche il cameriere Simone: sempre gentile, professionale e capace di far sentire ogni cliente speciale.

Negli ultimi anni, dopo il periodo del Covid, siamo tornati con il desiderio di ritrovare quella stessa atmosfera, ma purtroppo abbiamo notato un cambiamento in negativo.

Quest’anno abbiamo deciso di dare un’ulteriore possibilità all’Acropoli.

I prezzi sono piuttosto alti, ma non adeguati alla qualità del servizio né alle porzioni: 20 euro per un antipasto freddo, servito in un unico piatto con cinque piccoli assaggi… nemmeno nei ristoranti del centro di Roma abbiamo mai riscontrato una proposta tanto limitata.

Inoltre, il cameriere sembrava molto di fretta, e il servizio è risultato sbrigativo e poco accogliente. A un certo punto, abbiamo fatto una battuta dicendo che eravamo in vacanza e che poteva prendersela con un po’ più di calma. Ci ha risposto, piuttosto bruscamente, che sì, noi eravamo in vacanza, ma lui stava lavorando e doveva servire tutta la sala!!

Comprendiamo bene le difficoltà e i ritmi frenetici del lavoro in sala, ma crediamo che accoglienza e cortesia siano elementi essenziali dell’esperienza in un ristorante, soprattutto in un luogo dove le persone vengono per rilassarsi.

Ci dispiace sinceramente. Sentiamo la mancanza dell’Acropoli di un tempo, con il suo calore, la cura e quel senso di familiarità che rendevano ogni visita...
