Trattoria Marmetta — Restaurant in Porto San Giorgio

Very good, but not without its flaws.

As usual the food was very good - lovely homemade pasta, and then what you go to the Marmetta for, the meat - excellent. An interesting and well presented selection of desserts, (a change from Zuppa Inglese and Tiramisu) we ate well (four people on a Thursday evening). The service was friendly and efficient and if your Italian is a bit ropey some English is spoken.

Having written that: There is no house wine and their basic Rosso Piceno is a poor example for €10, other restaurants offer better quality wine a lower price. There was no ragu! An Italian restaurant without ragu? Unheard of. Poor.

It is at the top of the price range for this standard, acceptable...

Fantastic restaurant! Calling it a trattoria is a misname. The food offering, quality and service are outstanding. The wine cellar and spirt list is unique and certainly the best in the province of Fermo. The food is not only good, it is presented and served as in a first class restaurant. Fazit: Ein rundum gelungener Abend mit toller Küche, herzlichem Service und entspannter Atmosphäre. Wer in Porto San Giorgio nach einem Ort sucht, an dem man hervorragend essen und sich willkommen fühlen kann, ist hier genau richtig. Wir kommen garantiert wieder!

Die Trattoria Marmetta liegt direkt am Meer, unweit des Hafens von Porto San Giorgio – und wir fragen uns ehrlich, warum wir all die Jahre einfach immer daran vorbeigefahren sind. Jetzt, wo wir endlich dort gegessen haben, wissen wir: Wir hätten viel früher einkehren sollen!

Zwar wird ausschliesslich drinnen serviert, doch das ist absolut kein Nachteil. Die grosse Fensterfront zur Strasse hin wird komplett geöffnet, was für eine luftige, angenehme Atmosphäre sorgt. Und wer es kühl mag, darf sich auf eine funktionierende Klimaanlage verlassen.

Bereits beim Ankommen wurden wir vom gesamten Team herzlich begrüsst und direkt zum Tisch geführt. Unsere Servicekraft sprach ausgezeichnet Englisch und hat das volle Restaurant mit beeindruckender Leichtigkeit im Griff gehabt. Sie war durchweg freundlich, extrem aufmerksam und dabei stets gut gelaunt – ein echter Profi, dem man den Spass an der Arbeit ansieht. Dafür ein grosses Kompliment!
