Bar Le Sirene — Restaurant in Portoferraio

The location is incredible. Seriously, the view to the sea from the fantastic and lovely balcony is something I have never seen in my 40 years I’ve lived. We don’t have places like these in Chicago!

However…the service. First of all the customer service was very rude and disinterested, we were left with a very bad image of the place.

What I’m seriously worried about as a psychologist is the working athmosphere amongst the workers. The (I guess) 2 owners were in full fire! I was outside and could hear one of them scream: ”Prendo la mazza e ti spacco la vespa in due, che e 50% mio!”

My nephew is now constantly repeating italian swearwords too…Grazie...

Unwelcoming staff who would not explain that you need to wait to be seated and no any written notice in that regard either. Then they forgot to bring one of the two ordered main dishes which resulted in another lengthy wait. The langustines were not peeled. The long waited linguine with crab was a rather small portion of linguine with the crabs pincers which were impossible to open and/or get anything out of the pincers. Left feeling treated badly by the staff who it appeared prioritised the Italian speaking customers, and feeling somewhat hungry. Too expensive for what we've received: 60 euros for 4 langustines and a small plate of pasta with inedible...

Nice location but while there the barman was showing off for his mates by throwing out pigeon food and then running amongst them kicking as many as he could. One poor bird lay dying and he showed no mercy until we started taking photos..then he tried to hide his shocking behavior and argued with us that these birds are a nuisance and deserve it.
