Ristorante La Scalinatella — Restaurant in Pozzuoli

Chose this restaurant at random out of a few in the area. The staff were very friendly and gave us a menu in English. We had 2 of the 30€ tasting menu which is a great way to try 8 different fish starters. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to fish but they were all amazing and cooked to perfection. This menu also includes a first course dish which was a fish pasta (well you are by the sea!) which was also very tasty and just the right portion size. Son had a tomato pasta which was also very nice although pasta was a bit too Al dente for him. Staff were friendly and everything was good...

Esperienza pessima! Non so se siamo stati noi sfortunati, ma onestamente mi è parsa la classica trappola per turisti…peccato che io sia napoletana! Il pesce era insapore e decisamente non fresco, sembrava pesce scongelato. Neanche il pane era fresco e quando, in maniera educata, l’ho fatto presente, mi è stato detto che era secco perché fa caldo 🤔 Ci hanno portato un altro cestino, specificando che era stato affettato al momento ma che era lo stesso pane (e infatti era secco, “sbricioloso”, insapore come se fosse vecchio o scongelato). Come antipasti, abbiamo optato per polpo all’insalata e frittura mista di mare. Il tutto insapore e con tutta probabilità scongelato. Come primi piatti, avevamo scelto spaghetti ai frutti di mare e paccheri allo scoglio. Dopo aver ordinato, il cameriere mi ha chiesto se mi andassero bene paccheri con frutti di mare (invece degli spaghetti) così da fare prima invece di cucinare due diversi formati di pasta. Ho accettato per educazione, ma mi è sembrata una richiesta fuori luogo per un ristorante del genere. Le cozze nel mio piatto non erano ben pulite e sul fondo del piatto c’era decisamente troppo olio. Poi, quando ho fatto presente che il pesce nel primo del mio compagno era stopposo, mi è stato detto che è la sua qualità 🤔 Conto per due antipasti, due primi e 1 bottiglia d’acqua: €55 Per favore, smettetela di prendere in giro i vostri clienti. Non tornerò mai più e lo sconsiglierò a chiunque. Errare è umano, ma prendere in giro la gente è vergognoso.

Per il proprietario che ha commentato sotto alla mia recensione: Complimenti a lei! Continui pure a prendere in giro un cliente insoddisfatto. Poi, mi scusi, ma secondo lei io che motivo avrei di mentire? E se per lei le foto parlano da sole, allora abbiamo una concezione molto diversa di buon cibo....

For this price, I expected better. Waited 45min for a grilled Dorade. For 20€ it was only the fish and some lemon. The salad was 3€ and only a plate of iceberg lettuce, which they forgot to bring at first. There were no carbs on the side for the fish. It was a bit bland and just felt careless. The service was friendly but overall it was disappointing and I can't recommend the experience.
