My first stay in Pozzuolli couldn’t end without a memorable dinner. And we found just a perfect place. On the night of our visit we walked into an empty restaurant and I was very apprehensive that no one was there. But I was curious to try experimental cooking judging by other reviews I read. (As we discovered later the restaurant was buzzing whole day and we were the last lucky customers of the day). We have asked Salvatore to advise us on his mums best dishes. We started with antipasti. All the choices were absolutely delicious with many different flavours and ingredients I haven’t tried before. Then we proceeded with a pasta dish made with almonds and cheese. Sounds simple, but far from it. It was a mouthwatering combination of almonds, pasta, cheese, cream and some secret ingredients with everything in a such a perfect balance. My colleague was still hungry and ordered grilled swordfish, simple but fresh and juicy. And I had to try Salvatore’s sister desert. I am glad I did. Just as i like my deserts. Il Faro de Ninnera is a Cosy place, with courteous and professional service, delicious food... what else to wish for? Our bill only came to 50 eur with wine and water. Can’t wait for my next visit to Pozuolli already.

Delicious everything! Wonderful antipasto course that you should NOT miss. Fresh mussels, local specialties. Amazing pasta- we had to go back again because we were so in love with this place. Two local brothers built a magical little restaurant that you MUST try. Thank me later!!!

Avoid and do not trust reviews, probably half if them are fake. I don’t understand why this place has such high score. The waiter was unattentive and pasta with sea food was the worst I had in Italy in 4 years living in Italy- in total had 7 small clams from which 5 were completely closed, no sauce, no taste, well- no nothing in it. My husband ordered the same but without tomatoes as he is allergic and the guy first didn’t even wanted to make him one without tomatoes as saying he can either make two with or two witout tomatoes (I am sure mine were just added as decoration afterwords). After I complained about my pasta that there is nothing in it, he became defendent and agressive and quickly removed the plates without any apologies- probably so that I don’t take photos, I regret now not taking them. Really unecessary behavior from the waiter, and what a shame for a place that is right on seaside with abundance of fish and shrimps etc to not make better food. Further more- his response was that mussels were too small and they don’t use them (fair enough but why not add shrimps or better quality clams etc. and make home-made pasta and nice sauce at least?). Our friends got ‘grilled fish’ that was more cooked than grilled and the side ‘zucchini parmigiana’ was almost invisible, probably 5x5 cm. The restaurant takes no cards even though on their google page it says they do, and we had to get money from ATM to pay for such bad experience. Really shame as the place looks cute and could be really great. There are plenty of restaurants around, open your eyes and go where you see a lot of locals eat in Pozzuoli, as reviews here...
