An absolute gem – the soul of traditional Italian baking

La Panetteria is hands down one of the finest bakeries I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. Tucked away from the tourist bustle, this family-run spot feels like stepping into a slice of genuine Italian tradition. Since 1946, they’ve been perfecting the art of bread and pastry – and it shows.

The shelves are brimming with rustic loaves, focaccias, pizzas, and a mouth-watering array of biscuits and dolci that look straight out of a nonna’s kitchen. I tried a slice of their pizza al taglio and a few almond biscuits – everything was fresh, fragrant, and full of flavour. You can tell it’s made with love and local pride.

What truly sets La Panetteria apart is the warmth of the staff – friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. They were happy to recommend specialties, and their enthusiasm was infectious.

Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, a midday treat, or picking up something special to take home, this place is a must. Great value for money, authentic atmosphere, and utterly delicious.
