Beautiful setting and relatively pleasant evening. Produce was really good - but why so many dishes? Totally understand the local cuisine is all about pauperism, without too much variety, but why then bring 4 (four!) dishes of fried pasta? It paradoxically reinforces stereotypes instead of challenging them. By the time we got to the main dish (secondo, meat based, choice of pork leg, ribs or goulash on the evening we were there) we were almost asleep. Shame because that was by far the best part of the meal. Near the end of the evening everyone was running away, despite the Grappa on offer. We had dinner here as part of a Duvine tour. In a trip full of great food, this place stood out. The food here is simple - you’re not getting anything covered in foam, or carefully arranged on your plate with tweezers, or decorated with emulsions - think ravioli, pork knuckles and ribs, local fish, and barley soup. It’s the type of food you’d expect in a farmhouse, but elevated to a place of gastronomic delight. The ingredients are excellent, and they are prepared and seasoned perfectly.
