Nagler — Restaurant in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

Experienced what can only be described as racist and discriminatory behaviour.

We were sat down by the waitress who was kind. Thereafter, we were approach by a male who was to take our order. I tried to ask a question in English but he didn't understand (nothing wrong with that at all), so I was looking to use Google translate so I could aid in our ability to converse. Whilst doing so, my friend asked a question and the waiter aggressively snatched our menus and walked away. We were very confused but waited a while and received no service.

We then walked to the counter/register and asked the same man (presumably the owner?) if he will be serving us and he ignored us. I asked a third time and he shrugged and I was unsure what he said.

Effectively, we were kicked out for asking a question in English. I understand it can be frustrating for tourists to not be able to converse in the local tongue, but it is ridiculous to treat us with such anger, aggression and rudeness for simply asking a question.

Appalling behaviour. I suspect he doesn't treat his non-white English speaking customers...

Very good local bar plus pizzeria, they also have other hot dishes, weekend fresh seafood with pasta or other choices as desired, very surprised to find all the seafood are so fresh and tasty, especially in the middle of the mountain region! When you have had the meat and fried dumplings for several days, it's a good option to change a bit.

Also wine by glass very decent quality, overall a very good quality bar/pizzeria plus they open EVERYDAY! a very good solution when most of the other places are shutting down at the end of the season. Keep up...

Rather poor experience, while I'm all for local and relaxed restaurants off the beaten track, this was just unpleasant. We tried simple pizzas and I'd be ashamed to call them pizza if I was running the place, generic and felt as store bought, paired with uninspiring wine and borderline rude service. We only stayed in as we were tired after long journey and no other options in sight. Didn't finish the food and run away as soon as possible. Avoid if you can. Bathrooms delapidated and...
