Ragusa al Forno di Cristina — Restaurant in Ragusa

Came here off peak for some lunch. The scaccia (Ragusa specialty similar to lasagna) was tasty and we loved the tomato sauce (I read that for some it was sweet but I agree with the owner that it is just the strength of the good tomatoes). We tried the traditional one of tomato with ragusano cheese and the parmigiana and both were very good. I am sure the food would have been a lot nicer straight out of the oven but understand it’s difficult for the business. The service was very kind and accommodating. The reasons for my 4 stars vs 5 are: the quality of the coffee (she tried to do it a second time and we appreciate it but it was still not ok). We think something is off with the coffee machine as it was too much water and not creamy enough, the taste was also weird. The price was the second reason, a bit higher than other options that are also homemade. Still, bearable if quality is good so I would really recommend...

I've ordered margherita, the price is reasonable and it had good size but somehow, I don't know how but it was so sweet I could not eat it

UPDATE: Changing from 2 to 3 stars as owner has a point, I could've called, I don't speak Italian so I wasn't sure if I'll be able to communicate but still I could've tried :) but still can't give more than 3 as the pizza wasn't really eatable for me, I've eaten pizza in many places around Italy and just never encounter this level of sweetness so just worth to keep...

Un incontro che va oltre il gusto

Arriviamo a Ragusa per pranzo, cercando qualcosa di veloce e senza troppe pretese. Giriamo un po’, un bar è chiuso… poi per caso ci imbattiamo in “Ragusa al Forno”. Il nome ci ispira fiducia. Entriamo.

Assaggio la scaccia: Buonaaaa… anzi, tutto buonissimo. Prodotti freschi, sapori autentici, mani sapienti dietro ogni dettaglio. Ma ciò che rende questo posto davvero speciale non è solo il cibo.

La proprietaria, Cristina, ci accoglie con una gentilezza rara, genuina. Si parla di cucina, di territorio, di tradizioni… poi, d’un tratto, il tono cambia. Ci racconta di aver perso suo marito appena un mese fa. Un artigiano del luogo, un uomo che aveva messo il cuore nel progettare e realizzare tanti degli arredi che ci circondano.

E in quel momento tutto si riempie di significato.

Cristina, lui è lì. In ogni angolo. Nei legni che raccontano storie, nei dettagli curati con amore, nel calore che si respira entrando. Lui è in te, e si sente. Forte. Presente.

Vai avanti così, con coraggio e passione. Questo non è solo un forno: è un luogo dell’anima. E noi siamo felici di esserci passati.

Consigliatissimo....
