Mexico Magico — Restaurant in Reana del Rojale

The host was welcoming and spoke excellent Spanish, with his English being better than he admitted. The food was commendable by Italian standards, but didn't quite match what we've experienced in Texas and Mexico. Given the distance from Mexico and the challenge in sourcing ingredients, the dishes were decent. The margarita leaned towards the sweet side, resembling a tequila martini with a hint of lime. The menu layout was intriguing: Mexican dishes presented in the sequential Italian style. It was unexpected to see rice as a separate course, showcasing an Italian touch. We opted for a mixed plate featuring a mini burrito, fajita (open taco), enchilada, quesadilla, and taco dorado, similar to a taquito. The dishes were slightly cooler than preferred. The staff was great! I loved the chef, he was taking our orders and explained the menu very well with limited English. The food took a while because I ordered a lot but the quality was very good. The rice was authentic to what I am used to for Mexican rice. The taco meat (pork and beef slices) was juicy and tender. I ordered two variations of tacos in soft and crunchy. The "soft" tacos were a bit oily. I could tell they heated the tortillas on their stove. That's my only complaint. All the sauces taste and have homemade texture. Esperienza pessima veramente da non ripetere. Menù enorme, dispersivo. Preso tre piatti che avevano tutti lo stesso sapore. Partiamo dai nachos. Ci viene portata una porzione. Giustamente chiamata dalla cameriera "qualche patatina"perché appunto si trattava delle chips in sacchetto che vendono in qualunque supermercato. La salsa guacamole era la stessa che vendevano dieci anni fa al blockbuster. La salsa piccante non saprei identificarla, quindi non mi esprimo. Preso come primo il pasticcio consigliato dal ragazzo in quanto "migliore del riso"😐. Dentro il pasticcio sono riuscita a capire che la parte più solida erano pezzetti di nachos che si sono rammolliti in questo composto che non ho realmente capito che mix fosse. Sopra c'era del formaggio fuso. Passiamo al secondo. Prendo il piatto mix, nello specifico quello definito "morbido"... Da dove iniziare? Sarebbe dovuto essere un piatto composto, con diversi assaggi di specialità DIVERSE. Erano la stessa identica piadina tagliata a pezzetti e piegata in maniera diversa. Alcune a coni e altre a triangolo. Al centro c'era una sorta di ragù, identico ai sughi pronti (sarebbe dovuta essere salsa di fagioli). Abbiamo fermato quì questa esperienza truce e non abbiamo preso altro. Bagno senza chiusura, (grazie al cielo il locale era vuoto, se no bisogna andare in due perché uno la tenga chiusa) Di botte non abbiamo digerito assolutamente niente, e al risveglio una gran nausea. Ci sarebbe da scrivere un trattato pure sull'epopea della prenotazione (si mangia a turni, dalle 19.30 alle 21 e il secondo turno dalle 21 in poi) Il locale fosse pieno lo capirei ma era deserto. Al momento della prenotazione (ore 17.40)sembra fosse pieno e quasi stessero trovando un buco.Siamo andati via alle 20.30 ed era deserto, non abbiamo lasciato un cliente dentro.
