This is definitely a hidden gem in the area. The quality and taste of the food are of a high standard, comparable to high-end restaurants but at much lower price points. The waiter was very attentive, paying close attention to details and ensuring our dining experience was exceptional.

Both pasta dishes we ordered were unique and not something you’d find in typical restaurants, showcasing the chef’s creativity and skill. The restaurant is nicely decorated, with overhanging lightbulbs that clearly show the effort taken to create a charming and inviting atmosphere. However, being situated outdoors on a slope makes everything a bit wobbly, which can be slightly unsettling.

Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience was delightful. It was our pleasure to enjoy this restaurant 2 times during our trip to Sicily. Gennaro’s hospitality and cooking was fabulous. We have been there in November 2019, enjoying good old times. Whenever we will get back to Sicily Gennaro’s restaurant will be on our bucket list. In 2019 we started pretty cautious with some appetizers and then started with continuing to chose more dishes on the menu as we were so delighted by the quality of the food. Ho avuto il piacere di cenare alla Vineria Tanto di Cappello a Ribera e devo dire che è stata un'esperienza straordinaria. Il nostro tavolo era situato all'esterno del locale, in una via chiusa al traffico, illuminata in modo magico. La proprietaria è stata eccezionale nel spiegarci il menù in modo dettagliato.

Abbiamo iniziato con un assaggio di tutti gli antipasti e ognuno di essi era un'autentica esplosione di sapori. Dalle crocchette al nero di seppia che sapeva di mare, alle cozze con il gorgonzola che erano semplicemente sublimi, ai fiori di zucca con il battuto di gamberi, al crostone di pane con gambero e alla tartare di tonno freschissima.

Successivamente, abbiamo optato per due assaggi di primi piatti, poiché eravamo già sazi. Le busiate fresche alla crema di pistacchio e tartare di gamberi erano deliziose, così come i paccheri rossi con tartare di scampo, entrambi preparati con pasta fatta in casa.

La proprietaria è stata dolce ed educata nel descrivere ogni piatto, condividendo anche la sua storia e l'esperienza che l'ha portata ad aprire il locale. Va menzionato il merito anche al marito, che ha osato con abbinamenti incredibili, come le cozze con il gorgonzola, trasformando ogni piatto in un'esperienza unica.

Tutto questo è stato accompagnato da due calici di vino e un conto sorprendentemente onesto, che alla fine è costato quanto una semplice insalata e un panino in spiaggia. Non posso dimenticare l'amaro all'arancia fatto in casa con le loro arance, un tocco finale perfetto.
